Steve,
Having a fan running during your study is not a strange request, give the lab a call and let them know you need one. Bringing you own fan in MAY not be allowed due to liability reasons like RG said.

Weary, Congrats to you, the DME you are working with seems to be a fair one, our insurance contracts dictate that in a situation like yours we would do the same thing if more than 50% of the rental contract had been completed. Here it goes, and it's probably been explained 1000 times before, but I'l...

dllfo, Where did you purchase the SV if I might ask, and why aren't you going back to them for advice on how to set it up? I would say that whatever entity you bought the device from SHOULD have an individual trained on that device in order to sell it. I currently have 2 SV's and an AVAPS sitting in...

dllfo, I will get out the SV tomorrow and see if I can dim the lights in the settings. If you set your own pressures though, you are already in the providers menu, and if there isn't an option there to dim them, than it doesn't exist. There is no other secret menu. I got an AVAPS today also, so will...

As Snoredog as posted many times about the differences between Resmed and Respironics algorithms in APAP's. There is also a difference in the algorithms between the 2 SV machines. Resmed uses a 4 minute floating time which tracks the average minute ventilation, and Respironics uses a 3 minute floati...

Re: RT Hoseheads face problems too
What she ^ said HOW are they going to know you are getting an autopap? Your billing department TOLD them you were and billed them for it. I call it the blind leading the blind... You got hosed on your autopap purchase because your OWN billing department hosed you, had they simply given Insurance co...

Nope, honestly the story is the truth, I know it doesn't make any sense to me either. But I know the girl that I verified the story with wouldn't BS me. Like I said, we have known her and her husband for over 15 years. Her husband and I deployed in the military together twice in the same unit, so my...

Ahh I just wanted to post this example of why i love my job. About 2 weeks ago I setup a 94yo lady on CPAP, sharp as a whip and understood everything I told her. I called her last Friday for a 2 week followup (my secretary does the 72 hour and 1 week), she said she was having some problems with the ...

RG, Good point, I asked the girls in billing about that when they denied mine. The short answer is, insurance does not pay a dime no matter how often they are billed until they recieve the script and a copy of the sleep study from us. Once they recieve the script and the sleep study, they then pay o...

RT Hoseheads face problems too
So as most of you know I am an RT and RPSGT. I have been using CPAP for about 3 1/2 years, but have been feeling a little sluggish lately. So rather than playing "Pin the tale on the donkey" with my pressure, I decided that I would go to the Sleep Doc I work for and get a script for an APAP. Got the...
