Re: Ready to get a hammer!

I don't even know what AHI stands for. The pressure setting is 12. The past two nights have been better since I turned the humidity to zero. I did order some replacement parts for the mask, but when this trouble started I ordered a new mask, so I don't think that's the problem now. I'll talk to my f...

Re: Ready to get a hammer!

Since experiencing the dropoff in getting a good nights sleep, i have gained about 10 to 15 lbs. Wake up very tired and don't feel like exercising...which just compounds the problem. I wash the mask weekly and wipe it down daily. The mask is about 3 months old. I'll order another mask tomorrow and g...

Re: Ready to get a hammer!

I am definitely a mouth breather and have to wear a full face mask. Chin straps, etc. do not work. My first mask was an Ultra Mirage FF but had too many leaks around the bridge of the nose. The mask i am now using was great up to 3-4 months ago when things seemed to go down the toilet. Last night wa...

Ready to get a hammer!

It's been about three and a half months since I've had a decent nights sleep. Last night was the worst. I have been regressing to the point I was at before starting CPAP therapy. No energy, dozing while driving(momentarily), memory lapsing, etc. The downfall started with mask leaks and now it' s rai...

Re: Winter Coming, Gel-Mask Flooding Out

I have a fleece cover, but it's not long enough to cover everything. I'll try putting it under the covers and see what happens. Also, last night I cut the the connecting oiece between the nose pieces and put a scrunchie(?) around the straight part on each one. This helped the leaks and kept them tig...

Re: Winter Coming, Gel-Mask Flooding Out

I have a hose cover and hang the hose above my head. Several days ago I put the machine lower than my head. Alot better, but still getting "rainouts." Turned the humidity level down and even off - still had problems and woke up with a dry mouth. Room temperature is 74 - 75 degrees. Is a heated hose ...

Re: Winter Coming, Gel-Mask Flooding Out

What are the solutions to both? I have been having fits recently with two different masks.

Re: Need a little advice

Been on CPAP since 2007, contacted the doctors office about a year and half after starting Cpap and the nurse said they couldn't find my file. Got busy and never heard back from them and didn't think anything of it as the therapy was working fine. This mask is about two months old and its kept clean...

Need a little advice

A while back I started feeling tired and grouchy. Started dozing off and missing exits off the highway. Checked my CPAP machine and noticed that my nightly average had dropped from 5.6 hrs/night to 0.4 hrs/night. Bought another mask, no better. Started paying more attention when I woke up during the...

Re: Sudden Drop

After I received the machine and started using it the medical supply rep called weekly to get the readings, then called monthly for the first year. I asked her about the different numbers and she stated that the avg per night was the average hours per night the machine operated "under pressure." She...

Sudden Drop

I switched to a Liberty mask about two years ago and have had great results. The masks usually last about 5 to 6 months. My average hours per night or sleep was up to 5.6 hrs per. About a month ago I was having leakage problems and was not sleepiong well at all. Got a new mask and started sleeping b...

Re: Sinus Infection

Taking 500 mg of cephalexin 3X a day. And I will look into the sinus rinse. Had that done years ago at a doctors office and felt great. I'll still strap on the face mask tonight because I am addicted(in a good way) to it. I need to update my data as I have switched to the Mirage Liberty mask and hav...
