Re: What are "Flow Limited Cycles"?

Thanks, Echo. That is useful. What I'm struggling with is that my AHI is about 1 (which is really good!!), but my Flow Limitation Index is soooo high -- about 18. And no, I'm still not getting great sleep. I'm wondering if the high flow limitation might be a clue to something. Maybe I should just sh...

Anybody have experience with CPAP.com Battery Pack?

Has anybody on this board had any experience (good or bad) with the CPAP.com battery packs? Do they perform as described? Would I get 8+ hours (w/o humidifier of course) at 11 cm pressure on a PB? I'd love to go tenting again and not have to be at a power camping site!! https://www.cpap.com/cpap-mac...

What are "Flow Limited Cycles"?

I'm using a PB 420E and SL software. My "Flow Limitations - Runs" are 1789 for the past 96 hours, an index of 18.7/hr. Under "Cycle states" I have a Flow Limited Cycle of 13%, Normal Cycle 85%, and Intermediate Cycle 2%. What do these numbers mean and are my numbers normal or concerning? Thanks in a...

Oz, Thanks for the info -- this helps. I'll certainly try disabling those functions. Would you disable both IFL1 and IFL2? I did two sleep studies back in '02 and my Rx is from then. Thanks especially for explaining the initial setting -- I've always wondered if it made any difference where that was...

Help Interpret Silverlining Report - PB420E

I've been on xpap for about 7 years now. While it's definitely been an improvement, I haven't had the really great responses some others have. I finally ordered the Silverling software for my 420E. Here's what I show for last night -- an 8 1/2 hour session. Settings are currently low of 11 and high ...

Okay -- thanks. So, is this the setting that one would use with a monometer to ensure that the pressure at the mask is the same as what the machine is set at?

Goodnight 420E Setting Question

I have a 420E and know how to get into the therapy mode, but there's a setting which I don't know the meaning of. When I click through the settings, it's the second last one which comes up immediately preceding the ID (software version). It has an arrow at the top and bottom of the screen, and is cu...

Many thanks to all of you who replied with help. The DME who ordered the this unit for me usually only deals with REMstar, and didn't know much about PB. They really didn't want to get it for me; but, my doc was very helpful in specifying this unit in my RX -- she knows I'm a pretty educated patient...

Over the years, whenever I've had a cold I just crank the humidity waaaayyyy up and find it actually helps decongest me some. The first half hour can be pretty tough, but once everything softens up and my nasal passages clear some it's not too bad. I wear a mak, however; I don't think a nasal interf...

PB 420E Therapy Manual

Folks, Just moved from a plain jane REMstar Plus CPAP (almost 4 years old) to a new PB 420E APAP. I had the opportunity to trial APAP for a couple months and it's working much better for me, but still not perfect. Since I got the PB through my insurance and a DME I don't have the full instructions o...

I LOVE the Activa. Used the Profile Lite for several years and the Activa is soooooo much better.

But, YMMV.

5'9" male. 36 yrs old. 190 lbs.

Yes, a little portly, but I wouldn't consider myself obese. I could stand to drop some pounds.
