Smart card

The standard Smart Card is 54mm wide or the same size as a credit/debit card. The ResMed card is 22mm wide but the memory and contacts are the same as a standard card. All resmed did was cut a little off the right and a little off the left.

ACR33?? or ACR38

I use an ACR38 reader that I bought from a company in Southern California (~$25.00) to read my ResMed card. I have built a spacer, from 10mm thick material, where the left side is 18mm and the right is 14mm with a 22mm space between them. I built my first one about a year ago.

The 12 volt system on the boat should be large enough (wattage) to handle your S8 through the night. The Resmed adapter will work OK but is a bit overpriced. I made mine out of an adapter that I found and modified from an Auto parts store.

Have a nice trip.

Bumps

I want to thank all of you for responding to my problem. I see that I am not alone and am going to try a work around. It does seem to be the hazards of the game.

Lumps on head

I have been wearing a chin strap with my Swift II, for several months, and am beginning to develop a lump on the back of my head. The location of the lump is at the site where the rear head strap is velcroed together. I have not adjusted this head piece since I got it. Has anyone had a similar exper...

I recently purchased an Oximeter (Nellcor 395) but my approach was a bit different. What I wanted from the unit was data that could be correlated with the data from my ResMed S8. So I began to look for the software first and being a frugal (cheap) person, I looked for a good price/performance produc...

I tested my S8 elite with a 12V booster battery that I use to provide 12V DC for field applications. I built my own cable with no isolation and the S8 runs just great with it. My booster battery has a series of lights on the front to tell you when the battery is getting low.

I have facial hair and couldn't get a Liberty to seal. My leaks were so bad that the recorded pressure during the night was 0.8 where it should have been 8.0.

I have a Mirage Liberty Full Face used once. I have a beard and could not get the mask to seal - too much face hair. This is a non smoking household.

I think it is a lot easier to remain compliant when you see how things are going each night. Looking at leak rates and events provides a basis for making adjustments while hoping for a perfect night. And yes, I am a retired computer type.

Thank you all for the replies.

Amos - When I fall asleep in my chair it is an unplanned nap. When I nap on purpose I do use the hose.

Din - I am still fighting the mouth leak problem, it's getting better but no gold ring - yet.
