Quick question - no distilled water?

I'm on the road this week and I couldn't find anywhere near the hotel to get some distilled water for my humidifier. Would it be ok to use tap water for 1 or 2 nights, or should I just go without the humidifier?

We practice more of a trickle-down computer economy here. When I get a new computer, that means my wife and kids get my old computer, so that helps to get the all important spousal approval. I upgrade about every 2 years, and usually build a machine just a notch below the best available at the time ...

Thanks again for sending me the direct seals. I owe you one.

And I live for Ayr Gel - been using it since my first night on CPAP, thanks to this site. I probably wouldn't have stayed compliant without it.

My new machine is a quad core with 4GB, so it runs pretty sweet. Very Happy (wiping the drool off my face) Hey if you ever want to donate that to me I wouldn't complain, I could only wish to be able to afford a new setup like that. I build them myself, which saves a LOT of money. I built this whole...

That was me, and I have also been using the direct seals (size 5) for 3 nights, and they're awesome! I think I have finally found my "perfect" mask. The only problem I've noticed was that it seems to put a lot of pressure on the tip of my nose and it's been quite sore in the morning, but it wasn't n...

I just bouight a copy of 1.8 release 2 from thecpapshop.com. It included the reader, which I didn't need, but if you want something bad enough you pay the price. The package was $179.00 and it came within a couple of days of the online purchase. Hope this helps. This source may not last long once t...

Cliff - check to see if your headgear is attached correctly. When I first got my mask, the headgear was attached to the upper and lower points on the forehead support. I had a very hard time getting the mask to stay in place, because it wouldn't go down the back of my head far enough. Then I started...

I've had the same problem since I started CPAP. I even sprung for a new $2000 mattress, but that hasn't fixed the problem (wife loves it, though). One thing I've noticed is a correlation between how bad my back pain is and which mask I wear. Try laying down without a mask and note how you lie natura...

I miss 2000 Yeah, I've been using Windows since version 3.1 and 2000 was the first version where it really seemed like they had got it right. And then of course XP, which was so good that it's still butchering their Vista sales. But Vista is a good OS. I resisted upgrading until a few weeks ago, bu...

This board is more likely to get shut down from all the talk about pirating software, or even worse, people SELLING illegal copies of software to other members. Right oceanpearl? I have no idea what you are alluding to. I for one have never sold anything to ANYONE on this board! Nor will I ever!!! ...

oceanpearl - Geez, no need to be so hard on the new guy. Not everyone can afford to pay for a study, and there's really nothing wrong with self-titrating using an APAP, as long as you know what you are doing. http://www.foocus.com/pdfs/Articles/MarApr06/Pertelle.pdf So, are we going to be jerks and ...

Is that buying them from your local DME supplier or from cpap.com?? CPAP.com. I only call my DME when I know it will be covered by insurance. CPAP.com sells the single Direct Seal cusions for $22.95 each, or you can buy a pack with sizes 1-3 or 4-5 for $79.95 (which is more than 3x the price of the...

Has anyone tried the Direct Seal cushions for the CL2? I like the CL2 best of the masks I've tried - when it works. The problem is, it's only working for me about 50% of the time right now. The other times I either can't get the pillows to seal from the start, or I wake up in the middle of the night...

You need this smart card reader: http://www.two-factor.com/shop/index.php?productID=115 The bad news is, the software is hard to find because Respironics has decided they only want to sell it to doctors and DME technicians, not end users. Unless you get lucky and find somewhere still selling it, you...
