Mask jumble
Over the first two years or so of CPAP therapy I tried every mask I could get my hands on. The ones I hated came off after a few minutes or hours and got tossed in a drawer. The ones I wasn't sure of were used for a few to several nights. One or two were used long enough that I replaced the parts th...

Re: Will You Get the Swine Flu Vaccine?
Yes, I will get the vaccine. My work in healthcare exposes me and I'm asthmatic. Yes, sleep apnea is a chronic medical condition. Whether or not it predisposes one to complications from 'flu is another question. Certainly it predisposes to other conditions that would increase the risk of complicatio...

Re: Maybe O.T. - re exercise
Exercise trampolines can be a good way to get aerobic exercise. In addition, they are easy to put away when not in use. They can be a little hard on your weightbearing joints, as well as your spine, but depending on the individual, that can be seen as a challenge, a precaution, or a reason not to us...

Re: Clostrophopic
I too am chlostrophobic--I recently went for a MRI and within 5 seconds of being put into the tube I was beating on it and hollering to get out. I found, strangely enough, that I am happiest in a Mirage Quattro full-face mask. I think that for me being able to feel the air moving around my nose and ...

Re: Squealing/Squeakign rotating connectors on Activa/Quattro
THanks! I am not sure about the teflon taoe - the squesking is coming from the snap connector that ortates, and I don't know how I would get teflon tape on there. I will definitely try the veg oil - good idea. THanks! Check out this photo: http://www.cpaptalk.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=33452&p=284207#...

Re: Visiting a Smoker with my CPAP
Oh, and keep it off the carpet. Make sure the machine is resting on something that hasn't been soaking up smoke for years!

Re: Visiting a Smoker with my CPAP
I expect that the machine will pick up some smokey smell and hold on to it for a few days. If you were to stay at a motel you'd probably experience the same thing, only the smell would be whatever fragrance they spray the rooms with. You might be able to minimize the amount of smell you come home wi...

Re: Rest in Peace
What sad news! Snoredog was such an important part of this forum, it's hard to imagine him not in the background checking facts and helping people to understand their data--and of course offering his opinions.
My condolences to his family.

Size of Quattro vs Soyala
I have tried a Soyala full face and like it, though I think that the medium is a bit too small for me. I have both a medium and large Quattro and though the medium also seems a little small, the large is so big I can't use it. I'm wondering if someone has compared the two masks in regard to size. Do...

Re: ResScan 3.3 and XP
I get the message: "connect a flow generator or data card and try again". ? I get this message when I put the card in the reader upside down. It's very counterintuitive since you insert the card with the chip down in the flow generator and chip up in the card reader. I'm running 3.5 now, but 3.3 wo...

Select "Device Settings" under the Tools menu. You will get a screen that allows you to pick your device (if your card is in the reader, you'll see your flow generator's name as the device) At the bottom left of the window, there is an option to Erase Stored Data. I've never tried it, but this might...

The tape I have is about 1/2 inch wide. Teflon tape is very soft and will conform itself to what it is being wrapped on. I usually only go about two turns around the elbow. Once I replace the elbow, I can just pull off any that's hanging out. I do try to make sure no tape gets into the inside of the...
