Re: stomach endoscopy & sleep apnea

I just wanted to say thank you to the folks who answered my post, and set my mind at ease by telling me about their prior experiences and/or pointing me to where to find more information.

Thanks!!

stomach endoscopy & sleep apnea

Hey Good CPAP'ers - Can anyone tell me about their experience of having a stomach endoscopy, and how the docs managed your sleep apnea? I know that intubation is used during a typical anaesthesia procedure - but what happens when they are trying to get a thin camera down your throat at the same time...

Re: Toddler on cpap

And yes, sometimes people can be harsh on this forum. I'm not sure why, but don't let it throw you. It's good to tell them when they are being harsh, as you did, since I don't think that people always realize that they are doing it. But you are right, no one needs judgement or harshness. We are all ...

Re: Toddler on cpap

First and foremost, thank you for being an incredible mom and for fighting so hard for your child. Even though I don't know you, I want to say how much I appreciate just how hard you are working. One thought about helping your child get used to the mask: one way that children get over their fears is...

Re: About 1.5 months in and struggling mightlily

Have you been checked for GERD or acid reflux? Acid in your esophagus can cause some of the symptoms you are describing. I sometimes get a spasm in my throat from my acid reflux. It used to totally scare me until I figured out that stomach acid was causing it.

Please don't forget your success stories

Hello - I've been struggling with trying to use CPAP on and off over a long period time. I've turned to this forum for help mostly by reading lots of what's written. I have several new ideas to try, so I don't have questions right now because what I need to do is experiment with those ideas and see ...

Re: OT - Nerve Damage Healed?

i don't know if any of this will be helpful, so my apologies if i'm just repeating things you've already tried: you may have already done this, but have you been tested for auto-immune conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis? if it turns out to be auto-immune, try going the alternative route rather ...

Having a sense of humor will take you a very long way in this whole process. I am not kidding when I say that your ability to joke about the situation while also being proactive is inspiring! Good for you and good luck in the process.

Re: Still tired

Have you considered using an oximeter to record data overnight just to be sure that you are not having microawakenings due to apnea events that perhaps your machine is not capturing? I tried using the Zeo myself in order to figure out problems that I am having with my cpap, and when I used the Zeo w...

Re: OT: if you're in NYC and can help post-Hurricane Sandy

Sounds like a catch-22. It is definitely a catch-22, but us New Yorkers have been pulling together in incredible ways to help each other. Where there's a will, there's a way, and we will use our "pushiness" to make sure that all in need get help in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. We may not alway...

Re: OT: if you're in NYC and can help post-Hurricane Sandy

Sounds like someone needs a relative or friend who lives at a lower level, then the resources to help Nick move. There are a lot of statements in the text that indicate to me that there is a lack of willingness to compromise. Unfortunately, in the situation that Nick finds himself, compromise may b...
