Is my pressure too high or too low?
I’ve been using CPAP for about 13 years. Over the years, my pressure has been adjusted up and it’s now at 11.8. Recently I’ve noticed I’ve been waking up in the morning still tired and I wake up a couple of times during the night. My first thought was that maybe my pressure is too low but I’ve done ...

Re: When do you start to feel better?
CPAP therapy does take some time to get used to. Your body needs time to adjust to your new sleep routine. If you think about it, you’ve spent how many years sleeping a different way and now you’ve changed the way you sleep. Give yourself some more time. I found it took me a few weeks just to get us...

Ears feel plugged up
Lately my ears feel plugged up when I wake up in the morning. I can't figure out why this is happening but my husband suggested that maybe the pressure on my machine is too high. Has this ever happened to anyone else? I've been on CPAP for a long time and the last time the pressure was changed on my...

Re: Has this happened to you
When I wake up, I feel lightheaded and can't walk straight. The room isn't spinning but I feel like I'm leaning right and can't walk straight. It only lasts for a few minutes, but I've also noticed I'm very tired too. I guess that's why I thought it might have something to do with my sleep apnea. I ...

Has this happened to you
I've been on CPAP for a number of years and never had any problems. Then for the last two days, I woke up feeling dizzy. Has this ever happened to you? I'm trying to figure out if this has anything to do with my sleep apnea or is there something else going on. Of course I'd see a doctor if I could b...

Still snoring
I've been a CPAP user for a number of years. I recently changed machines to the Resmed S9 Elite and at the same time, my pressure changed from 9.5 to 10. I've been at the new pressure for a couple of months now and but since the change, there have been a couple of nights my husband noticed I was sno...

Question on changing my pressure settings
I have been on CPAP for 6 years now. My original pressure setting was 9 and although I've had several sleep studies over the years, the pressure setting hasn't changed- until recently. I recently replaced my machine to a S9 Elite (which I Love!) and at that time had a sleep study done. The sleep tec...

Re: new to Cpap
Welcome bevjok! It's important to keep that positive attitude. Like anything new, it takes time to get used to it. Over the years, you've developed your own sleep pattern. Now, you've changed it and it will take some time getting used to it. The important thing is to keep at it and come here and ask...

Re: How Many Of Us Actually LIKE PAP ?
Interesting question - do I like PAP? Initially I didn't like the idea of having to depend on a machine to sleep. I didn't like the idea of needing this machine for the rest of my life. But once I had my first good nights sleep and experienced what it felt like, I was hooked. I couldn't believe what...

Re: Replace Machine Time
How ironic - I am in exactly the same position as Old Lincoln. Last year was year 5 for me and as my machine seemed to be working fine, I thought no need to replace it. Then this year, the night before I'm scheduled to leave for a vacation in Punta Cana, my machine died. The tech has determined it's...

Re: Taking calcium and magnesium?
I used to have problems getting to sleep too but for me, I'm pretty sure my problems were related to pre-menopause. I would usually have one or two nights where I just couldn't get to sleep. I would lie there, tossing and turning until around 4 am, I would finally sleep - then wake up 4 hours later ...

How old is your machine?
I am still using the machine I got when I was first diagnosed with sleep apnea so I had it for over 5 years. It got me thinking about how often people change/purchase new machines. Mines working great but how long do these machines last?
What's your experience? How old is your machine?

Re: sleep study for home
It's important to make sure you have the right machine settings and mask for you. I would check with to see if you can have a follow up slep study - just to check and see if the settings are correct. I think what your experiencing is normal. Your body is adjusting to a new sleep pattern. You've spen...

Re: Newbie feeling tired
I've been on CPAP therapy for over 2 years now and I did experience the same tired feeling at just about the same time. After about 3 or 4 weeks of some pretty restful nights, I started to wake up feeling really tired again. My thoughts were "oh no, it's not working and I'm back to where I started!"...
