Advice from a newbee ----Buy first mask from local

Hi, I am new to this. About 45 days. What I have found out so far is 1. Buy a good machine with a humidifier from a known company. 2. Buy a mask from a local dealer who will let you try the masks for a least a week or so. As I understand it, the biggest challenge most new users have is getting the r...

Ambien CR sleeping pills cause memory problems?

I have been taking Ambien CR 12 mg sleeping pills for about 6 months. I told my sleep doctor today that I was starting to have short term memory problems. She told me to stop taking the pills and that she has a number of other patients that take Ambien that have the same loss of memory experience. I...

Slept 3 nights out of 16! New user. How long does it take?

I just started CPAP three weeks ago. The machine is fine and the mask works fine but most of the nights I am still awake at 2 or 3 AM so I take the mask off and go to sleep. I am even taking a sleeping pill. How long does it take to start sleeping most of the time using CPAP? I hope I am going to ge...

Thanks for the notice!

I just bought a Swift II this afternoon. The med store gave me a return option by Monday 5 PM. If it leaks like yours should I just take it back and try another brand mask?

Mask maker model usage comparison percent?

Is there a site that tells the number or percent of mask models in use. I am new to this and maybe the best masks to consider are those that are the most widely used. Thanks. Mr Frog

Dentures

I got some good advice from members on a mask for a side sleeper. I am new and forgot to say I wore dentures and leave them out at night for a good cleaning every third night. Does that mean I have to get a full face mask when the teeth are out? I hope not. Any advice or comments are appreciated. Th...

Please help new CPAP user

Hi, I was diagnosed with severe sleep apnea one month ago. They provided me with a CPAP machine and a mask that fits up my nose. (Tiara). The mask...
