Mouth tape not sticking

Until a few months ago I had been successfully using my Comfort Lite 2 mask with CVS brand sports tape. I was sleeping through the night and all was wonderful. A few months ago I tried the Oracle HC452 Oral CPAP Mask for a few nights. With the Oracle I changed my APAP min/max pressures and cranked u...

Cats do their part to treat OSA

I don't think my DME will cover this one though.

Re: Tried the ORACLE, and LOVE IT!

Can anyone who uses the Oracle comment on their sleep position? I'm a side-sleeper but have adapted (uncomfortably) to back-sleeping with the Comfort Lite 2.

Machine stopped recording data?

I have a M-Series APAP w/A-flex and have been reading my own data for a little over a month. I inserted the card into the reader this morning and EncoreViewer says the last day of data is September 30, 2008. Today is October 5th! The data card was inserted properly so where could the data be? I brou...

Re: I <3 my Comfort Lite 2

How's it going still? I too use the CL2 but use the nasal pillows. How are you keeping the direct seal cushion in place and does it leak? It is going great. I love this mask. I started with the direct seal cushion but have since switched to the nasal pillows. The direct seal cushions started to irr...

Re: Newbie first night with data capable machine

Welcome! Like most of us I think you are discovering that there is a lot of information to ingest. Don't give up, there are tons of great people here that are willing and able to help. I am not an expert so I am not going to attempt to interpret your data but I will say that I recommend getting the ...

I <3 my Comfort Lite 2

I am a side/prone sleeper and a mouth breather. I have been using the Mirage Liberty FF for about 6-months. Overall the Liberty is a good mask but the mouth interface had started to hurt my teeth and leak around the edges. It was probably to tight but any looser and it would leak like a sieve. It ju...

Re: Encouraging APAP progress so far...

I am pretty sure I will never completely get rid of my vibratory snores. This morning my uvula was very swollen. It is always quite large. I am pretty sure it is the reason I snore even when on therapy.

Re: Encouraging APAP progress so far...

The last few nights after increasing my minimum pressure from 10 to 12 left exhausted during the day. So last night I lowered my minimum pressure to 10.5 and boy did it make a difference. I slept like a rock. This morning I actually feel pretty good too. I know I should be trying to reduce my apnea ...

Re: Is Encoreviewer 1.0 the Right Software to get? (MAYBE)

I had the same issue. I ended up calling CPAP.com and the support rep. said they only sell the product and don't provide support. He gave me the 800 number for Respironics. While I was on hold with Respironics support I read the little slip of paper that comes with the EncoreViewer software and it s...

Re: DME says special order masks will be expensive

I just called my insurance company and got the information... Who is the DME? Vanguard Home Medical Equipment What -- exactly -- does your insurance cover for DME? According the the insurance rep. there is no specific limitations on what is covered. I have $2,500/year allowance. Are you allowed to g...

DME says special order masks will be expensive

I have my 6-month mask replacement coming up next Thursday. I asked the RT about trying out the AEIOMed Headrest or the Respironics ComfortLite 2 . He said they didn't stock either of those two masks but he could order them. Then he said, "special order masks will be very expensive". I asked him wha...

Re: Encouraging APAP progress so far...

I'm wondering what your reports would look like if you were to go to single pressure (CPAP mode) at 11 or 12. Good question. After my last titration study (1-year ago) I was prescribed a CPAP pressure of 12. I tried straight CPAP at 12 using the same mask I'm using now (Mirage Liberty FF) and the r...

Re: Encouraging APAP progress so far...

You said you lowered your minimum to 11 last night but your data shows some time spent at 9 and 10. I am guessing that your ramp is set at 9. Am I right? Yes, you are right. I found the initial pressure of 12 (or 11) difficult to fall asleep with. I've decided that I am going to post my settings in...
