Re: Suggestions for my new replacement APAP; (nonREMstar)
I currently have a Respironics REMstar Auto M Series with CFlex . I'm hopeful a new brand's algorithm might be better suited for me. What issues do you have with the M-series Auto algorithm? There are differences between the Resmed and Respironics Auto algorithms. But whether you'll like the Resmed...

Suggestions for my new replacement APAP; (nonREMstar)
HI all. I've reached the 5-year mark of religious CPAP use and still have sleep problems (trouble remaining asleep more than 4 hours). I'd like to try a new Auto-PAP brand now that I can get a new one through insurance. I currently have a Respironics REMstar Auto M Series with CFlex . I'm hopeful a ...

Re: What's a good AUTO-BiPAP machine, with at-home reporting?
So a setting of "3" may not be the "most exhale relief" if it doesn't match your breathing because Respironics Flex relief is based on breath flow and not a set cm drop in pressure. I actually recently changed it from a "2" to a "3" to see if would help with the chest/diaphragm pain; not sure it's ...

Re: What's a good AUTO-BiPAP machine, with at-home reporting?
What pressure do you use now on your APAP? My APAP is set to 5.5 to 8.5. My Average Pressure is 6.4, my Average Peak Pressure is 7.7, and my 90% pressure is 8 cm. In my opinion... for an auto bipap, you really should only look at either the PR S1 Auto Bipap or the S9 VPAP Auto. Thanks for that info...

What's a good AUTO-BiPAP machine, with at-home reporting?
Hi all... I wondered if I could get suggestions for a good AUTO Bi-Pap machine, that includes good data reporting capabilities (with software so I can check my stats at home). I've been on Auto-CPAP (not Auto Bi-Pap) for almost 5 years, and still feel awful. AHI's are great (had a third sleep study ...

Re: Medication to stop Early Awakenings --seems to be helping me
do you know that Klonipin is addictive? No, the Dr. didn't mention that. But then again, so is the Adderall, the Ritalin, etc. (Not sure about the Provigil.) And have you been monitoring your OSA stats via computer to see what it's doing to your sleep (apart from extending it)? Actually, I did chec...

Medication to stop Early Awakenings --seems to be helping me
Hi. I've been on CPAP almost 5 years, and have been through the ringer trying to feel "well" or "rested". Went through over a year of seeing the sleep clinic doctors, addressing the sleep hygiene basics, cognitive behavioral therapy, sleep consolidation retraining, sleep restriction, anti-depressant...

Re: My Story- 3 weeks into Treatment-- Better Energy Coming?
Well, not to be discouraging, but some people don't feel that wonderful energy even after doing all those good things. It's a complicated (and not fully understood) field. A few thoughts for things to consider... Be aware that solving the Obstructive Apneas via CPAP can allow other sleep disorders t...

Re: Do I need higher pressure if my AHI is still high?
Use caution though, if you are increasing pressures. I also (years ago) was "chasing the dragon" by gradually increasing pressures to chase away the remaining Apneas and Hypopneas. At a visit to the sleep clinic doctor (where I was being treated regularly for 1+ year because I wasn't feeling refresh...

Re: Oh Yeah?
Regardless, SAG will report out his findings in objective, scientific fashion. He will also investigate that bulk hulls deal and be willing to provide product as an intermediary (at cost, or less to anybody a little short on coin right now) for those who want to try the craft project. Hi SAG. Let m...

About a year ago I bought a buckwheat neck pillow from a company called Many Moons Alternatives Inc. and I was very impressed with the quality. Full polysomnography in the home
Just stumbled across this study from 1998 which seems to indicate that there IS a machine designed for a full polysomnography in the home. The DigiTrace Home Sleep System. http://www.websciences.org/cftemplate/NAPS/archives/indiv.cfm?ID=19982476 Not sure if it's still made/marketed, but thought some...

Re: Definition of "Arousals" in the overnight study?
With arousals there is usually something causing them, so we find the source of the problem, and treat it. (1) This is probably opening a rather large can of worms, but what are some of the common causes of arousals and their treatments? (2) And do doctors share with patients (upon request) the sig...
