Re: Need recommendation for full face mask
The older Quattro which was replaced by the Quattro fx...is a super mask for me. I'm a big guy. Both use a double layer inflatable skirt to fit the face. This gives flexibility and requires minimal tightness to get good seal. End result is a very comfortable mask. I'm not really up on the latest ma...

Re: Need recommendation for full face mask
Thank you everyone! So, one thing I think I know, but don't know I know haha, is the favorite mask for someone with a tiny small featured face will probably not be the favorite of someone like Lou Ferrigno (imagine bigger than Lou. : ) So what is everyone's guess, what the bigger Lou's favorite mask...

Need recommendation for full face mask
So, my friend just started apnea therapy a few days ago. He started out with a nasal mask, but has a stuffy nose often enough that we're thinking he should have a full face backup mask. He is a big guy (extremely fit) with a proportionately sized large head, bald, large (vs proportionately sized sma...

This has been a very helpful thread for me to read. Thanks for the question (gasp) and the especially well-worded answers (particularly Pugs).

Re: Need help picking a new machine!
I remember reading a thread where our moderator said children should not rant in help threads. See viewtopic.php?f=1&t=114176&p=1104690#p1104690 Yeah...they shouldn't but they do and we try to deflect the ugliness when we can but it can't happen unless all the guilty parties are willing to take the...

3) Turn off the bells and whistles i.e ramp and EPR unless absolutely necessary. Why? Thanks for reminder about skin it. I'm no pro, but knowing the full data from the beginning of my therapy helped me lower my AHI significantly. The forum helped me. I had high leaks from everything from using the ...

Re: New user, mask choice difficulty
I found having my machine set for exhalation relief, really made a difference for that claustrophobic feeling. And later, a more minimal mask also helped. I'm a side sleeper and the DreamWear works great for me.

If it were me...money no object and using cpap.com. the AirSense 10 AutoSet. Since he is a guy he probably wouldn't like the flowers on the "for Her" AutoSet. See that was easy. You/he won't be sorry. . .. So, he bought a couple of the AirSense 10 AutoSets, one for each location. Two questions rema...

Re: Nose issues with mask
I took you saying "as soon as you can" to mean when it makes sense monetarily, when insurance will replace, or as soon as you can after one sees the mask isn't performing like new.

Re: Nose issues with mask
Ive experienced that a new mask cushion is at it's most resiliency, meaning it provides the most cushion and doesnt flatten as easily when new. When masks get old, I've had to over-tighten them to get a good seal. And, the pressure point on your nose, could be from the mask being too tight. Are you ...
