I haven't used my cpap for about a month due to severe jaw pain and headache. My insurance no longer covers cpap supplies, and I can't afford to invest in a new mask. Any suggestions?
Thnx,
Deb

They let me order without a script :)
The RT just called and said she would send the order out for a comfort gel classic. It was nice of her to do that for me. I hope it doesn't leak.

Unfortunately, Kaiser has a limited selection of masks. I think comfort gel, F&P, and swift are the masks I had to select from.

Thanks Goofproof
You have always been so kind in answering my questions. The prices have really gone up on the masks. I guess I will have to stick with this one.

Do I need a script for a mask?
I am having problems with my mask leaking into my eyes. I tried several masks when I started my therapy. I liked two of the masks, the comfort gel, and the F&P. I have been using the F&P for about six months. I want to try the comfort gel, but they said I have to come in for a fitting and get a new ...

Thank you for replies
When I went for my sleep study 6-7 months ago the RT told me apnea was from being overweight. I am about 20 lbs over what I should be, but I know I have had this since childhood. I was an extremely thin kid, but was always sick with upper respiratory/ear infections. I had to have tonsils out and tub...

Anyone average weight/thin using cpap?
I am curious about this because I am about 20 lbs over my ideal weight, but had snoring and apneas before I gained the extra weight. Is it a weight issue, or is it an anatomical issue?

I used the same bookmark that I have been using here all along, but it took me to the beta. I don't like the new one! I hope they keep this one

How many have had their pressure lowered w/weight loss?
I have lost a few pounds since starting cpap, and am not sure if my pressure needs to be lowered or not. Some nights it seems like too much and some it seems like not enough. I know that an auto machine would answer this question for me, but I can't afford it, and also want to know from people on th...

rainout? tried search w/no luck
About three hours after falling asleep I wake up with a lot of condensation in my mask. It is to the point of choking me. I only have my humidifier set at 1, so I was just wondering if anyone had an inexpensive suggestion that may work for me. I have tried the search but I never have any luck with i...

I have to be honest. My hubby is more worried about the expense than I am. I am not sure he realizes how much my health has improved w/this.

Need advice ....should I buy an expensive machine?
I have lost about 20 lbs since starting cpap 6 months ago. I am about 150 now and the therapist said that they retitrate at 20lb loss. I have been doing so well >>> cholesterol down 60 points, fatigue gone, weight loss. Sometimes I feel that the pressure is too high and sometimes it feels too low. S...

FILTERS .like diapers and politicians, should be changed >
often and for the same reason.
I don't see filters mentioned here in the topics. I know that all machines run better when filters are cleaned. I clean mine once weekly and I can see a difference when I go any longer than that. How often do you change your filters?

I didn't think of a full face mask. Is that what they are for and what is the best kind to purchase?
