I start my ramp at 10 and it goes to 15. I have done the straight to 15 and stayed there, but in all honesty at 15 my exhaust valve is noisy and that is the biggest reason for dropping to 10 to ramp (lets my wife and I fall asleep). I have been on cpap for over a year and it is working great. My wif...

waking up
I have what I think is a simple question. When I go to sleep at night, I put my machine on (not auto ramp) and I can feel if I have any leaks (I have a non-ventelating mask). When I am comfortable I hit the ramp button, because at 15 it is just a little too high for me to take straight - you know th...

About the body heat... A friend returned theirs because they slept to hot on it. Said they sank into the foam tightly (like a form fit) which held in the heat. Also complained that turning over was like climbing out of a hole. I slept 1 night on one and that was it for me but my wife thought it was...

There need to be proper venting I agree. He needs his special short hose to do that. As I said before, most of us use vented masks and only know vented masks. He needs to consult his doctor before using anything but his prescribed "circuit" with a NV mask, O2, and special vented hose adapter. I tal...

Then why did you get a vented mask this time? Don't you have to use a NV mask? Perhaps you need to call your doctor on this. Most of us use vented masks but there are a few people around here (Lubman is the person I think of first) who use NV masks. This is all on me, I had a spare mask which I nev...

Mark, do not cover those exhaust holes! They are necessary for getting rid of CO2. http://216.247.204.179/plumber.gif Okie Dokie, then how come my other full face mask never had any vent holes? I do have the big sideways vent in the hose itself, I read that I shouldn't plug the holes in another thr...

Mask/Vent question
I have been using a mask for over a year and until I just shaved it has been great. I just moved on to the ultra mirage full face mask and I have a few comments and questions. I hope you can help. 1. My old mask had a firm elbow coming off the mask, the new one has a swivel and I hate it. Not sure w...

Re: Still Tired...
Lots of things to look at before dragging a big noisy O2 concentrator into the bedroom! I leave my O2 concentrator in the bathroom shut the door and run a very long hose, that way nobody hears the concentrator - and the bathroom is warmer in the morning as well. But I agree that its best to look at...

I got so many supplies from the DME when I first got the machine, I have not needed any supplies yet. I will contact them now after a year and have them order me a new cushion, and I will use my new mask till I get them in. Bet they will be surprised to hear from me, since I now own the machine, but...

Sounds good
I happen to have another unopened mask still in its box that I will pull out and try tonight. Thanks for the comments.
I guess the interesting part of this is that the combination of my beard and mask worked so well for so long. Very interesting in fact.

After a year of living the fairytale c-pap life things have started to get weird. I have had the same machine/mask for over a year. Slept well from day one, and felt better after 2 or 3 weeks and have never looked back. AHI has been in the 0.9-1.0 level almost the whole year. Sure the leak rate seem...
