Weight Cahnge = Adjustments to CPAP?

I've now been on CPAP for going on four months I've been feeling more "in control" of my life since I'm not constantly in a fog. As a result, I've been getting acupuncture to assist in losing weight. I'm down ~ 7lbs so far. I know with weight changes I have to see my Endocrinologist for my Grave's D...

MSNBC Trucking Article

Just thought you might appreciate the CPAP comments (and the photo of the mask!!): "William Rundle is one of the drivers for Schneider National who benefited from his company's aggressive effort to treat sleep apnea. "It's wonderful to be able to function during the day now," he said, adding that he...

Graves Disease

I was diagnosed with Graves Disease in 1994 and had radioactive iodine treatment. Now I take a synthetic thyroid hormone every day and have my levels tested every three months (or whenever I am especially tired, or lose/gain weight or have changes in my lifestyle). Then in Nov. of '06 I was diagnose...

AHI from study

Per the doctor's explanation - the titration study AHI was a composite of the complete evening. They didn't break it out. After they set the CPAP to 15 cm the technologist noted very few apneas. HOWEVER - I am scheduled to return in two months for another sleep study to make sure the settings are ap...

AHI Number scale

Reviewing the results from my initial sleep study and the titration study I can see the AHI numbers go down. Initial study AHI = 121.6 per hour, Titration study AHI = 30.9 per hour. My question is what is "normal"? My CPAP machine doesn't show leak data or anything just the hours of usage for compli...

Voted Yes

I voted Yes because of time consumption. I appreciate the "general" forum to find opinions and discussion on things that apply to everyone. HOWEVER, I think sections for specific equipment (software, nasal pillow, full face masks, etc.) would be helpful so you don't have to wade through information ...

Headgear and Hairstyles

This may be a minor point - but it is truly irritating! I have a Respironice Comfort Gel mask with the premium headgear. https://www.cpap.com/productpage/respironics-premium-headgear-with-EZ-Peel-Tabs.html I also have thick hair that is long enough to hang to my mid back. I MUST pull my hair back in...

OTR Drivers and CPAP

I work with a theatrical production company and 4-5 times a year go on tour for 2-3 weeks. I always ride in one of the semi-trucks and we generally bunk in the sleeper. My question is what do other OTR drivers/passengers do to power their CPAP. My manual says not to power from a vehicle BUT I power ...
