OK, since I was sent Pur-Sleep as part of this trial, I will post my "struggle" and results here. I started cPAP (again, after an 8 year break) in March '07. I wasn't excited about this but I had to do something. In starting, I required a prescription sleep aid (Lunesta) to help me fall and stay asl...

Okie dokie... I'm ready to post my feedback. Received the product late last week. I've been using CPAP for 3 months now and really haven't had too many complaints or issues with the OptiLife mask. But I thought I'd help out and give these a try. Ok, so I'll be honest. When I first opened the package...

Ditto what Jasper said... Make sure the straps are in the right place. It took a good week or two of fiddling with minor adjustments until I got the OptiLife to fit right. But once I finally found the sweet spot it was great. And I too must highly recommend Ayr Saline Gel. Truly a comfort for sore n...

This is a fascinating thread. I suffer from a pretty severe case of GAD. Been there done that on all the SSRI's, SNRI's, SSNRI's, Anxiolytics etc. OSA as a contributing aggravator to anxiety makes much sense. Now that I look back, it appears that my increase in anxiety coincides with my deterioratio...

Re: New hoser with hose cleaning question
[quote="geoDoug"]Hi all. That problem will probably solve itself in the summer when the air is dryer, but I can't exactly go half the year without washing! This is a problem, since any time I clean my hose, I've got water that won't go away for days. It's a barrier to use, encourages me to not keep ...

Hi there...
This is my DME. They seemed to want to go out of their way to make sure I had the right mask, machine etc. They spent a lot of time with me and I felt cared for.
They're based out of the Sacramento area.

Re: Humour -- funny product I ran across
Is it just me, or did someone totally rip off the ComfortGel patent?? In case you wanted to buy a dozen of them, here's the link: http://www.orientaltrading.com/application?namespace=search&origin=searchMain.jsp&event=button.search&Ntt=hose+nose&Ntk=all&Ntx=mode%2Bmatchallpartial&N=0 Hysterical...

[quote="johntee"] I'm just wondering now why they haven't come up with more rigid pillow stems, that could adjust and hold their positions better (like the flexible part of a drinking straw). Leave the top of the pillows soft and flexible like it is now, but mounted on a more rigid, adjustable stem....

Is it really that big of a deal to just skip using CPAP whilst on the plane? I guess I don't understand how this is so important to make such a fuss. Thousands of people with undiagnosed OSA get through night after night without any therapy. What will happen if CPAP therapy is not used on one plane ...

I use and recommend Lunesta... It's gentler than Ambien and can be taken longterm. Here's how it helps me. I have mild OSA. So the CPAP effectively treats that. HOWEVER. I still suffer from arousals due to the machine, mask and headgear itself. It's unnatural and awkward to try and sleep with all th...
