My doctor showed me how to change the pressure on my CPAP (though I already knew from reading posts here). I was having trouble with my low pressure - feeling of suffocation - and he thought I could try raising it a bit to see if that helped. He's a cool doc, though... Whenever he gets new equipment...

Finally, a good night's sleep!

But it was without CPAP... I've been having trouble getting used to this process, and I'd finally had enough of it last night. I originally went on CPAP to see if it'll help with my insomnia. I do have sleep-disordered breathing (AHI of 15, all hypopneas, with no desaturations, but some respiratory ...

I'm in Kirkland.

I'm about to turn 40, so I guess I should reserve a tote bag, huh?

Another Pacific Northwester here - I'm in Kirkland.

I don't know how important it is to have a pulmonary specialist, but you might be able to find a sleep doctor who is also a pulmonary specialist. A couple of the doctors at my sleep clinic were pulmonary doctors before they turned to sleep medicine.

A few of the times I didn't use the heated humidifier, I didn't have any water in the tank, so it wasn't even operating in passover mode. Being new to this, it didn't even occur to me that it would. Duh! Anyhow, I tried last night w/ water but no heat and my nose feels good this morning. Now, i just...

Does anyone have a problem with the plastic part of the mask under the nose? It really irritates me the way it touches my face between my nose and upper lip. I sometimes pull it away from my face so that it's not touching, but it's kind of hard to hold it and fall asleep at the same time. I'm thinki...

Find humidifier uncomfortable

I don't know what it is, exactly, but I find the warm, moist air from the humidifier uncomfortable to breathe. I'm not having problems with rain-out; I just don't like the warmth, I guess. I'm using the humidifier at the lowest setting. More often than not, I end up turning it off. However, I've bee...

I did the same thing last night. I'm pretty sure I was wearing the mask when I fell asleep (though it's possible I wasn't) and I woke up at 4 am to find it off. Machine was turned off, too. I put it on and went back to sleep, but ended up with less than 4 hours. I'm just about 2 weeks into therapy. ...

I also bought one from two-factor last week! I ordered on Monday and the shipping notice didn't come until Friday. I'm curious to see how long it takes to get to Seattle.

Newbie question about mouth breathing

6 nights in... finally slept nearly a whole night with the machine - I feel confident I can make this work! I'm not sure if I'm mouth breathing on occasion. Would this show up in leak rate and/or AHI? I'm guessing both - air leaks out of the mouth, so the therapy isn't as effective, so higher AHI an...

I'm 39, have been on CPAP for 4 nights (so just beginning this process...) I originally went to the sleep clinic w/ insomnia, but I mentioned daytime sleepiness, so the dr. suspected apnea. Sleep test showed an AHI of 15.4, all hypopneas, with no oxygen desaturation - and yet, my sleep is fragmented...
