Hi SleepyNoMore. I had my surgery about the same time as Snoredog. We must be about the same vintage. My experience was very similar. The one thing that was different was that I was awake through the whole procedure. Plenty doped up, but awake. At the time, they said this was the only way they would...

My experience pretty much parallels Snoredog's. Surgery done about the same length of time ago. Sounds like the procedure was similar. The appearance of my nose did not change. I also had nasal polyps removed. I've never regretted the surgery either. Breathing has always been easier, infections almo...

Hi Nodzy. I cannot specifically address your question about doctors recommending a spirometer for OSA benefit, but have another variation that might be useful. I just got out of 18 days in the hospital last Friday, for what began as a massive amount of fluid in the pleura of my left lung. The pressu...

Re: severe osa

I have been putting off the sleep study for years because I sleep very well. I do not seem to have the sleepiness, concentration issues etc that goes hand in hand with OSA. Is this common? It doesn't make sense to me. _________________ Hi Flylow. Can't really address how common your experience is, ...

Hi Treesap. My sleep apnea appeared after gaining about 25 lbs. related to medical treatments I was receiving. I've now lost about 27. Through sort of odd circumstances (temporarily not being able to use cpap and still find a comfortable position to sleep in, due to hip and leg pains), I've discover...

I'd like to add my comments to the mix. In no particular order. 1. I told the sleep doc on my last visit, that I tape. He didn't bat an eyelash. This may or may not be relevant, since I've never seen the same sleep doc twice. There are six in the practice and I've only had four appointments. 2. I di...

I believe Encore Pro Analyzer will put those time periods back into one. At least that seems to be the case for me.

Hi Jen. You are doing great at getting your data to post. You have workable clickable thumbnails. When I click I get full size images which can be magnified. Good going. I'm using Firefox by the way. Your numbers look pretty good also. While your max leak and large leak are high, your average 90% le...

Hi Denise. Click on your own profile. On the right side, under "All about denise1768", you will see a link called "Find all posts by denise1768".

Hi Pat. This is a little off the wall, but my son recently injured his shoulder. For awhile he had to wear a brace like thing that went around his chest and had some sort of velcro straps or band that wrapped his arm tight to his side. Something like that, with some sort of semi rigid and padded sub...

How did the doc set your pressure without a titration study or at least a trial on an APAP? Seems like he licked his finger and stuck it up in the air and felt the wind! It is great that it is helping already, but to get the best treatment you possibly can you should have some data, either a sleep ...

Hi Dave. I empathize with you. I have a brother very much in the same situation. He snores very loudly. He is depressed. He always complains about a lack of energy. I only learned a few weeks ago (after I was telling him about my OSA and xpap experience, which began April 23rd) that he, in fact, had...

Thank you Snoredog.

Haven't been around long enough to have seen that. Makes sense now. My sleep goes up and down with post nasal drip and back/leg pain. I have noticed higher variable breathing scores on my "bad nights."
