Brenda, thank you! I never thought about it being an issue with the HH. We did get a new HH in the last month and have been dealing with some rainout issues. She has a hose cover but it isn't doing it's job. I think I will turn it down another notch and look for some really heavy material to make a ...

Before hubby was diagnosed with apnea he used to talk in his sleep all the time. My favorite was when he turned to me in his sleep and said "Prepare to be boarded." Now what do you think that means???

My nine year old daughter has sleep apnea and has been on CPAP for six months. She was diagnosed when she was four, had tonsils and adnoids removed and it was resolved for a while, then came back with a vengance.Hubby also has it-was diagnosed in this 30's but has probably had it for a LONG time.

Thanks everyone! I found that tag on CPAP.com, that was exactly what I was looking for. I am just trying to cover all my bases, it makes me feel better if I am prepared.

can we talk about airline travel again?

Hi all, I know this has been discussed many times before so bare with me. I know that you can carry on the CPAP and you have to take it out for screening. What I am wondering is there a specific tag or something that I need to label the bag with, specifying it as medical equiptment? If so where do I...

My husband has had the same mask for over five years. Our insurance only pays for the initial set up and mask so we are on our own for any replacements. Nice ha?? Especially since we have two hose heads in our family(hubby and nine year old daughter) I live in fear that the CPAP or masks will die. H...

I pretty much figured out he is mouth breathing and needs a full face mask. (he is also going for another titration study soon) an...

Pressure change with longer hose- revisited

I know we have discussed this before but.... recently Hannah went from a six foot hose to a ten foot hose. She flops around her bed so much she was pulling the hose of her mask. Anyway when we switched I asked both the DME(respritory therapist) and the sleep DR if she would need to change her pressu...

I got a 8 foot hose for Hannah because she flops around her bed so much.A very nice member sent us some hose clips and I use one to clip the hose to the bed sheets near the machine, that way when she flops around it does not pull on the machine.Sometimes it helps to clip the hose to your pillow or P...

Wow, you are one smart Mom for putting two and two together with your son. I can't tell you how many times Dr's tried to dismiss my concerns about my daughter. Hannah had all the classic symptoms but I have heard so much about how some kids never exhibit the classic signs, it maifests itself with ot...
