Re: Just When You Think Things are Going Well
I've never had dizziness. Perhaps your pressure is too high? Excessive oxygen can also cause dizziness.

Re: Preparing my case for a medically necessary Autoset
WOW! That is over the top. I'd definately seek a new doctor. For that matter, you might be able to show the data to your regular phyiscian and convince them to change to APAP. Your prescription can come from ANY doctor with a medical license. I recently decided to get a new machine and I simply talk...

Re: My New Resmed S9
Yea, I have seen the software posted here before, I might give it a try because the longer term data is alway interesting to look at. For now, the morning (past night) AHI is good enough because I'm sleeping so well.
THANKS!
THANKS!

Re: Hello, Im new to the forum...
I can't compare the S8 to the S9 but I can tell you the S9 is a fantastic machine and well worth the money. I do remember comparing the two machines and the S9 won hands down in my research. I'm extremely pleased with the S9 compared to my old Respironics machine. I to have the humidifer with climat...

Re: One Week down!
Stick with it! Eventually, you won't be able to sleep without it. I'll tell you, after using this for a few years I'm sold on the technology. I sleep so well it's simply amazing. The proof is comparing myself to others. My family and friends get tired much, much earlier than I do and they all get mo...

My New Resmed S9
Got a new S9 just before Christmas and want to say I love this machine! I can easily check my AHI in the morning, that's a great feature. Also, the exhalation relief is simply fantastic....so much better than my old Resprironics. I jumped it up to level 3 to start and found that to be too much (to m...

Re: Time for a new CPAP - Recommendations?
Sp autoset is my first machine..so I have nothing else to compare it too. My sleep lab uses Resmed equipment elusively. I love mine. I have never had any problems. I do use the Rescan software. When I first started I download my card weekly. Now I download once a month or if I have had a bad night....

Re: My resentment against my CPAP
because I am surrounded by intimidating slim and healthy fit people of all ages, including my parents Hogwash! I'm slim and somewhat fit and I have OSA and use a CPAP machine, and I know a ton of people who are the same as me who use one. Overweight people do not hold a corner on the OSA world, as ...

Re: Time for a new CPAP - Recommendations?
Hi BadThad, On the user adjustable thing...you understand they they all have a lockable provider interface and the user menu is limited. But most users manage to get a providers manual or instructions to change pressures. Here's a little rap on Aflex vs cflex http://www.sleepguide.com/profiles/blog...

Re: Time for a new CPAP - Recommendations?
Thanks for the responses! I really like the interface on the ResMed S9 Autoset. So far, it's the pack leader. The Respironics auto machines look great, they seem to have a technology lead in detection and mitagation of sleep events....but their machine interface is far behind the S9. I can't find an...

Re: Repaying your sleep debt
I don't see this as taking months. The human body rebounds very quickly and, once you have all your settings correct, you should be "caught up" in a week or less. If not, I think you probably have other underlying problems. When I started CPAP and got everything dialed in, I was feeling better withi...

Time for a new CPAP - Recommendations?
Longtime CPAP addict! I still have my original REMstar Auto C-flex with a card reader and software.....IT WORKS GREAT! Given it's age, I am going to get a backup unit and....I've met my insurance deductable for the year so the new machine will be "free". I want another machine that meets my requirem...

Re: dry mouth
Are you using a mask or a pillow? If a pillow, there's a chance your mouth is opening during sleep.....try a chin strap. I had to start using one about a year ago and it fixed the dry mouth.

Re: Should changing Apap to cpap mode on my machine create sleep
Some good advice here. The bottomline....nobody knows you like you. You need to take control, monitor your results and adjust accordingly. I found the doctors only to be helpful at the start and after that just money machines. I know better than they how I'm feeling and how I'm sleeping. I look at m...
