I alternate between a nasal mask and a nasal pillow mask. I have the Respironics Optilife. My nares were very sore when I started because I was wearing the petite size pillows and they were small and slid up my nose and caused sores. Now I use the small size and they work much better. Sometimes I ha...

I just flew from Detroit to NY recently. In Detroit I sent my cpap through in its case and was pulled over as usual, only this time they said "it beeped" so in addition to swabbing and inspecting my machine, I was subject to a pat down search. My understanding is that there is something that they ca...

elbow removal

I was able to just pull the elbow off. No hacksaw, or knife needed. Then, I just connected it directly to my heavy duty hose. I just can't stand the big plastic thing on my forehead. I thought there was somewhere in here were someone did a major modification to this mask, but I can't find it.

I have two new unopened Comfort Lite 2 nasal pillows - 1 size large and 1 size medium that I would like to trade for a size small pillow, a direct seal in a comparable size (small?), or a small size of the simple cushion.

For the Optilife you should really look at the Respironics site and read all their information about fitting and common fitting mistakes. I had problems with my straps slipping until I went to the site and found out that I needed to put my hair in a ponytail to get it all in between the two straps. ...

O.K., I'm not sure I know how to read this. If I look at each day individually, my average leaks ranged from 23.13 - 26.44, and they weren't significantly different on the snore night. If I look at the trend graphs on the report, they list the leak grid with average max leak 79.7, average 90% leak 2...

I know you all are saying the snore index doesn't mean anything... I'm new to cpap - I've been on it 13 nights now. My husband (FJC) just printed my report for me and my snore index has ranged from 8.6 to 60.3 over the last five or six days, until last night where it was 143.2. I was very tired all ...

Have you tried changing the angle of the pillow once you have it on the mask? I think I've had that problem occasionally, but changing the angle of the pillows makes a difference to how much they sit on your face.

If you go to the respironics site they have fitting tips along with common mistakes in fitting as well as a couple of videos about how to wear the mask. I found this very helpful since I have very thick shoulder length hair and I didn't know that I was supposed to put the strap for the back of my he...
