According to that list, my machine is NOT in the recall. Talked to Resmed a bit ago and they said it definately needs service and that it MAY still qualify for the recall. Guess we'll see! In the meantime, I still have to use it, as it's way too late for me to get a loaner tonight. I do not need thi...

Is my APAP on the way out???

Odd thing last 2 nights. Wake up in the AM and my brand new HEPA filters are BLACK!!! Tonight I even checked my intake filter and IT had a sooty look to the INSIDE surface. Anyone ever see this before? I think some bearings or something are going bad, maybe? S8 Vantage not quite 2 years old, btw. Go...

Yah, this is the machine I started on 7 years ago. Did the job until about 2 years ago when the bearings went out on me. Not a very long life in my opinion. Anyway, that's the point I decided to move to APAP and have been very happy with my S8 Vantage.

Dgrendahl, Try to ignore the foul mooded posters in here. Some are so full of themselves.......... This is the reason I have stopped hanging in here. This is my first post in over 8 months, but I felt I had to step in and support you. I too, am a professional (veterinarian), and it seems to me that ...

Well..... I'm almost embarassed to tell. My handle started in college back in the early 70's when one of the "in" things was the Afro hair style. Even though I'm caucasian, I had one of the best and largest Afro's on the campus of the University of Illinois. It became my nick-name on my dorm sports ...

After having a new tear drainage duct made as a day surgery patient, they almost killed me when they stuck me flat on my back in recovery early last year. And this was even AFTER I had discussed my OSA with both the surgeon AND the anesthesiologist! I now wear a tag I had made up for me by an on-lin...

NHE..... it was you who was the cause of my shutting down, just as you have now done to drbandage. Maybe you should just quit being so damn confrontational and take in what we have to offer. Not a single one of us claims to know everything. Just take what we doctors say here in the same light as any...

And I suppose the other party was totally without blame? I sort of thought that having an ACTUAL MD who was also a fellow hoser was a BENIFIT to this board. But some other lay folks think they know better and have chased a valuable resource away. I too, used to post more here, also being a doctor, b...

Most of the nasal pillows should do OK. I have the same situation and use a Swift with no problems.

Hang in there, Fenway! This sort of thing is not unknown to this community. One thing I would suggest trying is to start wearing your gear before you actually try to sleep. Hook up, crawl in, read a book or watch TV and DO NOT dwell on the gear. Let your body adjust to the stuff without fretting abo...

Same here in Florida..... power outages often PLUS those dang, pesky hurricanes at times. We have a small 2000 Watt Honda i2000 generator that will power even the fridge or freezer, if we rotate things. Powers my APAP, humidifier and fans as needed at night. Weighs in at only 49# and about the size ...

Also, though, make sure you don't have the straps TOO tight! That tends to help the Swift leak more and cram up the nostrils. I had to learn that the hard way by trial and error. It should just be tight enough to be held up to your nares when the XPAP is off. When you turn it on, the pressure will s...

Same thing here.... floating stuff after a few days. BUT... even worse as far as I'm concerned is these dang Resmed i3 humidifiers are impossible to get into to wipe out! Very small openings and many nooks and crannies that are nigh near impossible to reach. Even after sitting with 50/50 vinegar doe...

FYI......... actually the Honda EU2000 will run at the lower setting, which is MORE than enough for all XPAP's and their humidifiers, for 14 hours on it's 1 gallon tank of gas. I know....... I've had to do it!
