nap sleep

My experience exactly the opposite. Almost always my AHI is zero or thereabouts during a 1 hour nap.

Resmed

Like many companies, judging from their last quartly revenue and earnings results, their management is doing just great. Like many companies too much focus on short term results can ruin the company. I suspect this may well be the case.

Software

You need to get the software. I'm in the group that just doesn't see how you can diagnose and deal with your apnea without the feedback from the machine's software. Your problems could be as simple as mask leaks or the wrong pressure settings but how can you know?

Encore Lite

Derek's comments are spot on. My experience I just don't know how anyone can effectively deal with apnea without getting the feedback from the machine's software. Most people would be quite happy with just Derek's program without the hassle of dealing with the Encore Pro nonsense. Frankly, it's an i...

Encore Pro installation

Folks, I'm running three computers, an older PC, a laptop, and my main high tech PC. The first two run Encore Pro and My Encore just fine. My main computer simply won't run them. The closest I got after running Windows repair, reinstalls, and various other tweeks was downloading the data to the data...

Encore Pro software

Called respironics to find out why I couldn't get the v1.6 update to my v1.4 encore pro software which I bought from a very legitimate supplier that most of you recognize. Get this. The representative says that the FDA says that they can't sell encore pro to somebody that doesn't have an account wit...

Facts are your doctor is using the info from the encore software. This is good. My doctor, since sacked, didn't even know it existed. Your doctor shouldn't have to deal with an improperly set clock. It is a Respironics defect. Threaten the whole useless bunch with BBB and tell the DME if he doesn't ...

Remstar Clock

I've been through the annoying Remstar clock issue which is basically a design fault. The DME can't fix it. Respironics has a special card which factory calibrates the machine and for some strange reason, is the only way to set the clock. I screamed and hollered about my 1998 readouts and eventually...

Best machine out there imho, just remember the Encore software package with card reader is another $200. Derek's free addon software called "MyEncore" is a super user friendly addition.

I continue to be amazed at how many smart and helpful people there are on this site. Thanks all. I think for the time being I won't fiddle with the FL!/2 settings since I don't really understand them too well and the 420E works just fine for me with the defaults. I have the SilverLining manual of co...

For Guest

I haven't used these adjustments as I mentioned. Since you obviously know the machine, can you tell me what exactly does the 1FL2 setting do. It's described as "flow limitation combined with amplitude decrease". This is not a form of snore adjustment?

For WAFlowers

I think your doctor prescribed a great machine for you. I'm interested if he also prescribed the software (silverlining) that goes with the machine. If you have this software, you can get daily feedback on how you are doing. Alternatively, you can periodically bring the machine to him and if he has ...

Derek's studies as I recall did show a significant Remstar response to snoring. If this is shown to be a problem during the sleep study it might have been better for the sleep lab or doctor to prescribe the Goodknight which does allow for adjustments to the machines response to apnea, acoustic vibra...

osij

osij says she does experience runaways for no apparent reason. I suggest there is a reason and it needs to be deciphered. RG had the problem and found the reason. Anyhow, solution simple, if you can't find the reason, switch to straight cpap as long as you are getting AHI's below 5. If you are not g...
