Thanks for all the input, guys. In seeing that others have heard of and experienced this I now feel it is quite normal. I took a nap without the CPAP today and noticed the same thing as I fell asleep, but it was less dramatic. When I did stop breathing, while on the brink of napping, my body seemed ...

Thanks, Linda. Again I had selected the wrong machine from the list. I do have the M series however in the listing I didn't see it because they left the name "REMStar" out of the title.

I had selected the wrong machine in my profile. I have a REMStar Auto CPAP with C-Flex. I was just asking if anyone else has this issue. My pressure is 14.0 CM per my prescription. Yes I use the ramp feature but it happens regarless of the machine being in ramp mode or full pressure. At this point I...

Breathing stopping while falling asleep

Has anyone heard of this? I've noticed something happening to me as I start to fall asleep on therapy. As long as my mind is focused on breathing I'm fine. But as my mind starts to wander and I feel myself nodding off my breathing stops. This happens under any pressure. I was using the auto mode and...

...at the end of my hose

Guys, Three weeks now and I'm on the brink of failure here having serious mask issues. Even with the face mask, Mirage Ultra, my jaw drops, my cheeks fill like bellows with air, and the seal fails. I've even shaved my beard and have tried so many adjustments and nothing has worked. My last attempt i...

APN - HYP Index

My APN- HYP Index as listed on my REMStar "M" Series is 9.4 per hour. Does this seem a little high for being under therapy? I have my machine set for auto from 10 - 14 CM and the 90% pressure is 13.7.

Was that your beer? I filled my humidifier with it. Should sleep well tonight. Maybe some fun dreams too.

FreightTrain, I have a "M" Series Auto w/ C-Flex. I'm not sure how much the auto mode has affected my therapy for it seems to run 90% of the time at 13.7 CM. My prescription is 14.0. However, I do know that the C-Flex feature is a godsend, especially if you are new to the therapy. It makes initially...

Does the Ultra Mirage have the active cell like the Mirage Activa? I really like this feature. In the Activa I get almost 100% no leaks. I have not used a FF mask before and looking to try one.

First Night On Heated Therapy

I just completed my first night on heated therapy. I cannot believe the difference. Slept for 7 hours straight without waking up once using my Activa mask. Waking up today, my nasal passages clear, with none of the cold/flu like symptoms I received from the cold passover humidifier. I'm using the R...

rain out

That's been on my mind but not sure if I'll have too much problem with that in the desert. The air going into the CPAP is so dry that I doubt it will leave much for condensation. We'll see. If so, I'll be looking to get on of those aussie hoses.

NBC Sleep Disorders

Leave to the media to focus on the very rarest yet most sensational of sleep orders. Take it as you see it folks, but it's just more evidence that the most important thing is not what helps but only what sells. Barely even a mention of the most common affliction, sleep apnea. Boo hiss to NBC.

I'm in heat

Three calls to the doctor, three calls to Apria and one call to my insurance, all in one day, and I now have my HEATED humidifier. Looking forward to sleeping with it tonight. I really am a pain in the butt. My next quest is quiet. My Activa mask seems to be very quiet. I'm sure my therapy will be q...

Switched masks

I went back to bed at 4:30am and tried to continue my therapy with the Activa Nasal mask instead of the Swift Nasal pillow. I woke up this morning with less congestion and far less irritation to the inside of my nose however still have the cold and flu like symptoms but not as extreme. Has anyone el...
