Noise from Swift mask

Jerry, what pressure setting was prescribed for your CPAP? In my experience, the amount of noise the Swift mask makes is very much a function of the CPAP pressure setting. The speed of the air exiting the exhalation holes is the culprit; the higher the pressure, the higher the speed. My Swift "quiet...

The flap over mouth flapping

Ozij, I think you are onto one of the many issues that can contribute to this problem. The more upward pressure an interface puts on the upper lip, the easier it is to push air out through the lips. (And the anatomy of each individual's lips also plays into how much this matters as well.) I, too, am...

Killing two birds with one stone

Yep, doing it manually would work just as well. But until today, I did not know how to do that. Since I had the Encore Pro software availalbe, this seemed like an opportunity to learn how to change the pressure range while learning more about the capabilities of my new software at the same time. Why...

Once again, many thanks.

Derek: Right you are! That document is EXACTLY what I needed. Since there appears to be some question about loss of data upon SmartCard reprogramming, I will research it in more detail and report back what I learn. RG: I did indeed already know about the "DO NOT ERASE" option, thanks to Derek's exce...

Whoops! Forgot one last thing.

Forgot to ask: Will downloading a new prescription to the SmartCard erase the sleep history data it contains? If so, is there a way to avoid it?

If not, I'll back up my latest Encore database first so I don't lose any of the records generated using the current prescription.

Thanks again.

Many thanks!

Rested Gal, u da (wo)Man!

Thanks for the quick, comprehensive response. I will give this procedure a try.

Now, if I could just get hold of a copy of the Clinical Manual, my documentation requirements will be complete.

Help with programming Respironics APAP

Hello, all. I'm a relatively new APAP user now armed with all the prerequisite software and hardware necessary to manage my "glorified leaf blower." (I love that description! Wish I could recall which of you coined it.) I have used the system for a couple of months and the collected data shows that ...

Thanks!

Excellent! Thanks to all for the quick assist. I will download the driver from Sleepyman's website and see what happens. But I do have two follow-up questions: Sleepless on LI: I double-checked my Encore Pro disk as you suggested, and the Utilities directory contains nothing I recognize as a Windows...

Tube position for Swift mask

I definitely prefer the "down the body" position. Given the location of my CPAP unit and hose, it is the best way to reduce torque at the connection point of the tube to the mask. And torque can cause bigtime leakage!
