Oximeter for SleepyHead on Linux?

I have been using SleepyHead with my ResMed S9 Elite and it's been great (except for one night, when I forgot to re-insert the SD card). I don't have a Mac and haven't had a Windows install for 12 years. Has anyone used an oximeter with SleepyHead on Linux? I read that only a few oximeters work with...

Re: Scientific Studies on OSA & Weight Loss

My sleep doctor told me flat-out that it doesn't matter if I lose weight, I'll always have sleep apnea, and always have to use CPAP. I used to hope he was wrong, but I think he's right. My weight has fluctuated - went up really high, off the scale in fact, and then I dropped 100+lbs through better f...

Re: Sleepyhead on Linux

sleepyhead on linux is a real pain in the arse, it seems to be a very low priority for them, (everybody uses macs and pcs, who cares about linux?)... the versions for linux on the web page are ancient and don't support the prs1 well, or at all (not sure which). I've managed to get the current snaps...

Re: Which Operating System do you use with SleepyHead?

Debian Testing here. I just discovered this awesome app two days ago, after upgrading from an 8-year old machine to an S9 Elite. It compiled easily for me, though I had to delete the lines from the translations file for some reason. But it runs! Thank you for the great utility - seeing my charts is ...

I am sick with a bad cold...

Hello, I have been sick with what I thought was a pretty bad cold. It stared with mild congestion, about 2 weeks ago. It got worse about 1 week ago, and I thought it was going away yesterday but today it was worse... I'm coughing up light green or yellow phlegm, my throat feels like it's been stabbe...

So this past week I've used a chin strap to keep my mouth shut... I have a horrible cold so I think that's why I was mouth breathing.. I'm coughing up phlem and have a sore throat, back, and chest... Anyhow, the entire week, the leak rate has been almost or at 0.0L/s, and my AHI has been steadily de...

Well, I was shown my results for the week on the computer, and they told me I need a full face mask. I said I didn't want it, because I like the Swift and I asked for a chin strap instead. They gave me one to try for a week, and my results have been immensely lower. Last night was the best so far. M...

Alright, so two nights later, and I have better results. The first night, my leak was 1.0L/s (WTF, lol), but my AHI was only 6.3.. So the leak was worse. I slept on my side the whole night, so that's gotta be why my AHI is lower. Then last night, I tightened the mask more than usual, and my AHI was ...

OK, I think I will try the same mask tonight, but this time I will not start the machine until I put the mask on. I thought that it was smart enough to detect if the mask is off and then not count that time as leaking. Maybe I will disable the mask-off alert and put the autostart back on again.

I opened my mouth last night once, briefly, but I did it knowingly. Does this leak rate get affected if I happened to start the machine prior to putting the mask on? My mouth was not dry this morning, so I don't think I mouth breathed much if at all. I think I may try my older mask, ComfortSelect, t...

Got some results from last night...

Hi all. My AHI from my sleep study was 31, my worst hour was 77 when I was on my back. My Rx says pressure between 8 and 14. Well, I've been on CPAP for a few weeks now, actually over a month, using pressure 10 on a REMstar Plus. But this week I just got a machine that actually monitors my AHI/AI/HI...

Best price (even second-hand) ResMed software+reader?

Hi all, I am pretty sure I will settle on the ResMed S8 Elite machine. I am looking for the best possible price for ResMed software and reader, even if it's second-hand, as long as it works. The most important thing for me is the price because I don't have a lot of money, but I don't want to wait fo...

I'm not sure what the difference is between the REMstar models they have, and the S8 Elite.. But I will find out. They aren't giving me a top of the line model right now because it's a free trial period prescribed by the sleep clinic doctor, but after the first month is over, then I start paying ren...

Alrighty, I called them today, and they said that when my month trial is over, I will be getting one that has a SmartCard. So that's good. Apparently, I can choose from several REMstar models, or the S8 Elite or S8 Compact. I'll read up on these when it gets closer to the date. They will also let me...

The site sure is taking a long time to load, but I'm interested in this if it isn't too pricey.
