Other changes in your body?

Has anyone discovered any things that were happening to your bodies before you were diagnosed that are now changing since you have been on CPAP? For years and years I had horrible night sweats and the doctors never knew why. On CPAP treatment, they have stopped. I now know it was from Sleep Apnea! O...

I had the same problem. My doc ended up switching me to an APAP with C Flex. It helps a lot. I probably should be on a Bi-pap but my insurance won't pay for that unless I do a 3rd sleep study, etc. See if your doc will switch you to an APAP machine

I have been on therapy for a couple of months and had the same problem with my CPAP. They tried lowering my pressure but then I felt like a zombie in the morning. So now I am on a loaner APAP and the doctor is going to take readings off the card in it. I still swallow air but not nearly as bad as I ...

Getting discouraged

I have been on CPAP for about 3 weeks now. I started out with a CPAP machine and the pressure was set for 12 which is the pressure that worked in the sleep study. I was swallowing air and in pain. I called the doc and they had the DME come out and switch my pressure to 9. Then I was waking up with h...

Masks

When you all get different masks, do you go through your DME each time? Does it get processed through your insurance? I just wondered how many people are buying masks out of pocket instead of insurance reimbursement. Thanks!

You guys are right. I felt like I barely slapt last night. Had the old nightsweats too. I don't think my machine set at 9 is even doing anything at this point. I am calling the doctor today!

Thank you so much. All of you here have helped and I have found this forum so informative. I will contact the doctor. Why do they make everything so difficult. Do you know the medical supply company didn't even measure me for the mask. Is that normal?

Headaches

Hi fellow hoseheads! I could use some advice. I have been on CPAP for a week and 1/2. My pressure was 12 and I was swallowing so much air and it was very painful. The doctor lowered my pressure to a 9. I am still swallowing air but not enough to wake up in pain, but now I am waking every morning wit...

I am where you are too. One week on my CPAP. My major issue has been swallowing air. It is so painful. Was set on 12 and today got it moved to a 9 to see if it will help. I was waking up with air leaks too but you can customize my gel mask. I did the customization and now it hardly leaks at all. The...

Me too!

I have had my CPAP for one week today. I am trying very hard to adjust and I have had a major problem with swallowing air. I read on one of these boards that if you sleep on your back with your head elevated, it might help. I did it last night, and I am a side sleeper, and it helped! I went 4 hours ...
