Went to the Dr. today...........

Went to the doc today and told him of my struggles of not feeling better. I have been on cpap for 2 months. He put me on Provigil and said that I should feel better soon. Anyone have any experiences with the med? He started me out at 50mg 2x's a day over 2 wks then up to 100 2x day for 2 wks then 20...

Giving up!!!

I have been on cpap for 2 months and I am ready to call it quits. I have seen virtually no results. My DME says that results should be seen in no more than 2 weeks. I have been very good about using the cpap, no leaks, all that good stuff, and I am just thinking, why use it if it's not working. My p...

I had the very same problem, I now use an ace bandage to keep things closed. I wrap it from just below my bottom lip around my ears and the back upper part of my head. I wrap it several times and it is pretty snug, but it works. I started with a regular ace and switched to a self adhesive ace and li...

I know, no leaks, since I practically tape my mouth shut, also, why is it that the dme thinks I also should have noticed a diff. by now? I talked with them this a.m. and I am getting a pulse/ox to see where I am at, and then go from there. My husband thinks that I am expecting too much and that some...

Need advice please......

I have been on cpap since the first part of January. I was also told by my Doc. that he is suspicious of narcolepsy too. Some of the testing indicated it. He said that he wanted to treat the apnea first and see how I feel and then move on to see if the narcolepsy was bad enough to treat with meds. I...

I tried the fixodent also but due to the pressure, my mouth would eventually "blow" open. Last week I bought an ace bandage and wrapped it around my head and below my lower lip, actually sitting on my lower lip and the many wraps around the head/cheeks keeps the "blow fish" from happening and my mou...

Weight and hypopneas?

I thought I had read somewhere about that people who have hypopneas would not be able to go off of cpap with weight loss. Is it true that weight and hypopneas don't affect each other? During my study in January I had 52 hypopneas in an hour and a total of only 6 central apneas the whole night. My o2...

I use the one with velcro to stay in place. I have read where others have used pins, it's just your preference I suppose. Good luck!

Used it like a chin strap, but made it a little tighter than a chin strap can be and put it just below my lower lip.

Ace bandage a big success!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After many failed attempts, ie: tape, chin strap, poligrip strips, denture cream, I finally kept my mouth shut all night last night with an ACE Bandage!!! Works great!!!!
