HAS THIS HAPPENED TO YOU?
I have been using the swift nasal pillow system for about 3 weeks now. I haven't had any problems until last night. For some reason I got tangled in my hose and put a kink in it. Their was no air going into my nose & my alarm never sounded. I only found out because hubby woke me up because I was sn...

Napping?
Some days I just feel that I still need a nap. I fell asleep on the patio chaise yesterday. Of course, it was without my cpap. Does that make a big difference in my compliance? I did feel a bit more groggy since starting cpap 3 weeks ago. but it was over 90degrees also. So.....my question is...when...

Neversleeps,,,,,,,,thank you. You expressed exactly what I have been saying to myself for years. I have been living just one day at a time for about 5 years now. I never even think about what I'm going to be doing on the weekends because I'm not so sure that I will still be around. I have all sorts...

Retaining fluid & weight gain
I know that the subject of swallowing air has come up plenty on these boards, but I have a different type of question about it. I know that I have been swallowing air as I have pains in my stomach in the morning. But,,,can it cause fluid retention in your fingers, ankles and feet??? I have gained 6...

Wow, I'm not sure there's enough space for all of my ailments. First off, I have trouble seeing the screen of a computer (which is why I use bold settings for my postings). I have glaucoma, anxiety/depression, gerd, high blood pressure, morbid obesity (about 100 lbs overweight), hiatel hernia, rest...

Hi Guys, After reading these posts I had to go into my bedroom to check out my headgear ( I use the Swift also). I don't have any velcro on my headgear at all. It has straps that are made from something that reminds me of craft foam that you cut letters or numbers from. It's very soft & flexible. T...

Oracle 452 oral mask?
I just saw this mentioned in another thread so I took a look at it on cpap.com. Does anyone have any experience with it? By just looking at the picture it looks like it only goes into your mouth, and not your nose. Is that correct? I'm usuing the Swift nasal pillows right now and I'm not exactly lo...

One Night down--question on swift pillow
Well, I got my machine yesterday and used it for the first time last night. After the first hour or two of fiddling with the Mirage Swift nasal pillows I think I actually did pretty good. I do have a question for anyone using the nasal pillow system. Does the slot for the exhalation bother you? It ...

I asked about this very thing today with my respiratory therapist from the dme . She said they aren't recommending it because it contains screws and they worry about them coming loose. With the air blowing in it could cause some trouble. They don't want to take the chance of anyone swallowing a scr...

Did I do Ok??
I had my appointment with the respiratory therapist from my DME . I think I did quite well. I have read most of the posts on this board and was ready with questions and had my mind set on what machines I DIDN'T want. (I wasn't quite sure which one I didn want though. )I knew that I didn't want the ...

anyone else have aetna ppo?
Does anyone else have aetna ppo? I am scheduled to get fitted for my cpap at my local dme on Thursday morning at 10:00am. The dme called me this morning and said they had contacted aetna and that they only pay 80% of my cpap ..and that does not include a heated humidifier. I don't have a choice of m...

I have to say that our staff gives much more information about procedures being done to their pets than I have gotten from my pulmonary dr. and my sleep clinic combined. I have had to do a...
