Gotta join the 'no' gang here - actually I've had far fewer sinus problems since going on CPAP then before. I've also not had a cold since I started about 1 year ago either.

Welcome to the group & best of luck with your treatment. Keeping your expectations low in the beginning is a good idea as the transition can be rough - BUT once you get through that you'll find you're sleeping better then you can remember in a long time! If you can, wear your mask for an hour or so ...

Zombies require a machete! Shooting them in the head only works sometimes! You've got to dismember them!

I found I was twisting my head 'up' when side-sleeping due to the mask and that was causing upper back pain similarly to what you describe. Futzing with my pillow to allow a more natural sleep posture helped 100%

Hi to both of you! Whatever you get make sure it has some kind of exhalation relief! Some folks don't seem to need it but it was the key for my successful toleration of the whole shebang! I went from barely 2 to 3 hours a night to 6.5 the night they turned it on and within a week was at 8. Best of l...

[quote="cflame1"]I find it interesting that somebody that has supposedly taken himself off CPAP is now in a cpap forum... this is beginning to smell like a troll.

Hi Kona and welcome!

If your machine has an exhalation relief feature turn it on or have your RT do so. That was the big difference for me!

I'm at 8.5 and I find with the ramp I don't get enough air. If you get the exhalation relief you might find you don't need to ramp.

Re: If you are disappointed in your cpap therapy please read

I am leaking out of my mouth. So I asked my wife to donate a pair of stockings to the cause. I got panty hose. I cut a leg off and tied it around my head and jaw to keep my mouth closed over night..... ....um guys don't cut them at the crotch, you leave the crotch in tact that part goes under the c...

Well, yeah, absolutely - but FF masks have some of their own issues. 1) Some can't tolerate - feeling claustrophobic 2) more likely for small leaks around the face (due to larger surface area of gasket) But if you're bigges issue is opening your mouth when you sleep and you don't have a problem with...

I'm a FF guy too and have used both - was on the 431 and just moved to the Quattro. Occasional problems about with leaking when I'm on my left side but never my right. Odd that but such is life. Minor stuff numbers wise but odd that it's one and not the other.
