I've fallen alseep on the train, too. Ended up halfway back to my starting point when I woke up. Fallen asleep on planes, in movie theatres, in plays. It's the snore that usually wakes me up, this godawful sound from the top of my throat (very un-ladylike). Then I look around to see who noticed.

I didn't need a sleep study to tell me I had OSA either. Unfortunately it's hard to get the machine without a prescription, so we have to go along with this arcane (and expensive) requirement.

I went for my sleep study last Spring, but I've known for years that this has been a problem for me. It wasn't until I was diagnosed with hypertension that I mentioned it to my doctor, as I had recently read that OSA can cause hypertension. I figured I could kill a few birds with a single stone by f...

I "currently" rent the FP HC234 from Apria. I personally like the machine alot. When I picked it up the RT told me that at 3 months United Healthcare would call me, see if the machine was effective, then buy it outright. He also told me that the rent per month would be $13.54 and my initial charge f...

I feel your pain. I always wake up in exactly the same position I was when I fell asleep. On occasion I have may arm slung up around my head on my pillow, and if I fall asleep like that in the morning my arm hurts so bad I could cry. My husband (sweetie that he is) will massage it for me. I used to ...

Obviously this is something you need to discuss with your doctor, but I can relate. Before I started taking medication for my hypertension I had a very rapid heartbeat what seemed like almost constantly for a week. I could hear the blood pumping in my ears when my head was on the pillow. The medicat...

I knew I was suffering from sleep apnea long before my first sleep study. I went to a nitwit ENT about 6 years ago who looked up my nose, prescribed steroids and left it at that. I didn't do anything about it again until last spring when for some reason my blood pressure went way up. I got a new doc...

I agree with Peter. I no longer toss and turn at night. I wake up in EXACTLY the same position I fell asleep in. If my arm is up under the pillow when I fall asleep, it is there when I wake up, and it HURTS. My husband kindly massages it for me in the morning.

I'm only 38 and have been using a CPAP since last August. I remember showing the machine to a friend of mine (also female) when I got it and she was horrified. She said "you're not going to use that." I said yes, I am. Being tired all the time really sucks. My husband couldn't care less, and he's ve...
