I've read about all the capabilities of software on this board and they seem to really be important to a lot of folks. I'm not one of them. I have that same machine and have been using it for 4 months. It works great, I sleep great, and I feel so much better I could care less how many events I have,...

6 feet, 280 lbs. Yes they stack it that high! I was hoping my cpap machine would result in magical weight loss however after a month and a half, no change whatsoever. I suppose I could exercise and eat less. naaaahhhhh

I too have been fortunate - terrific results from the very first night. I think I have about 2 1/2 weeks in sucking through a hose. I still check this forum daily but just to learn. I could care less what my AHI is, my O2 levels, etc. because I feel great. Having said that, my first post here was to...

I worked there for a week in 1998. Kinda cool place - not sure I'd say it was DL. The do have strict laws and you'll find absolutely no litter, pornography (Playboy is pornography), drug use, crime, etc. I started work at midnight one night and had to walk through a shopping mall to get through work...

Re: I had my first night with CPAP machine!

[quote="cletourn"]Hi all, I went to the sleep study center last night and spent my first night with a cpap machine on. I have to admit I was a little claustrophobic at times and of course all the wires and plugs from the sleep study equipment did not help either. The good news is that I finally had ...

Jack, I had my appt. too on the 30th but after the study on the 5th (I had the cpap put on me for 5 hours) I wanted the machine right then! I called and had my appt. moved up two weeks - you might try that if they can get you in. My results were quite bad - 88 non breathing events > 10 seconds per h...

Each year I start growing a beard the day after the last game of the world series and start shaving again on opening day. Been doing that since '94 - the strike year, when I said "I'm not shaving until they start playing baseball again." How was I supposed to know they'd cancel the whole season?

Thank you for that, RG but I left before I read your advice. HOWEVER!!!!! - I'm very happy to report I've had 3 of the most restful nights I can remember since picking up the machine. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!!!! I think my wife likes it more than I do (although she did report one snore last night - sh...

Thank, I will. Can someone expand AHI for me? Is that something that I should monitor after I get my equipment? And only reply if you can answer within 3 hours! That's when I leave to pick up my stuff.

Thanks for all the great information. I have an appt with the DME place tomorrow at 3 so I should be all set for the weekend. Insurance out of pocket is ~ $17 + 7.50 a month for 10 months. Can't hardly beat that. They offered to come out to the house but based on someone's suggestion here, I am goin...

[quote="snoregirl"]Scherebh, Maybe you know this by now but I thought it needed to be said based on your second post of this thread. The doctor doesn't determine where you get your equipment, you do. The insurance company only has a say in it if you choose to received benefits from them. SO, your do...

It's the new math: Two nights = Twice the Money! No matter how they act, they aren't Dumb. Jim I just had one study. They woke me up half way through and put me on a cpap machine for the rest of the night. The tech showed me the difference off and on the machine. I'm still trying to get the machine...
