If you cruise with Princess you can contact the cruise line through the website. I was told to contact medical services when we cruised last in March '07. I requested a gallon of distilled water and it was there for us. I brought an extension cord and had the steward have the engineer inspect it and...

Yes, Gumby, it's a new hose. I swapped hoses with my husband (who has an older hose) just to see if it would work better, and it did. Still, I'd like to be able to use my own new hose.

Thank you Ozij, I'll check out the connector.

Difficulty with hose/mask connection

Hmmmm.... I thought I posted this but couldn't find it.... I recently switched masks as I was given a new one in the hospital. My new mask is a ResMed Ultra Mirage and I like it very much. My CPAP is REMStar Plus M Series. However, I struggle quite a bit trying to connect the hose to the mask. This ...

We also have a Select Comfort bed; ours is the 7000 I believe. We got what they call a "split king"- which is to say, two twin XL beds- because we got the "adjustable feature" that allows you to raise the head and feet, etc. I have arthritis and an autoimmune disorder similar to Lupus, so comfort is...

Babette, I have had both symptoms you mentioned. I got a ganglion cyst on my wrist which eventually was surgically removed. I had had severe pain by the end, but it ended immediately. I have had pain/discomfort while sleeping on my left side, but it was due to pericarditis. I also had pain which see...

We just swapped our old tanks for new ones last week. I was told by the tech that tanks they sent out earlier this year had that problem. The new tanks are much easier to close and the seals stay put. No more puddles!

I've been using Diovan 80 mg for about 10 years. I'll keep this in mind, as I've had some periods of coughing recently. I was changed to Diovan from a different antihypertensive when first diagnosed because that med made me cough. I'll keep this in mind. This place is GREAT for finding useful inform...

I started with a passover Maybe it's just me, but I'm hungry for matzo now. My husband and I have exactly the same machines. Both of us are getting small puddles of water under the machines in the mornings. Since we live in a very humid summertime climate, I'm going to try using the machine without...

The tech at the sleep center said it may be because we have an elbow joint a the back of the machines so the hose will swivel and not pull. I'm not so sure.... we don't have puddles every time. I've been checking the seals very carefully; putting the tanks in with great care; and crossing my fingers...

I hope you don't abandon it! I was ready to (and did for a couple of months) because of chest pain and pressure. I was also very fatigued. My doctor ruled out a heart attack but in the end she found that I'd had pericarditis for at least two months. I also had rather serious anemia. Once those condi...

It's an M series. My husband and I will watch the gaskets and if they still leak, we'll call the sleep center and ask if these were the ones that were recalled so we can get a replacement.

Thanks, everyone!

Questions about puddles and...

I've adjusted well to my CPAP (after an adventure with pericarditis) and sleep much better now. But I have two questions. First, is there anything that will minimize the strap marks on my cheeks? I have to pull the straps fairly tight to get a good seal. Second, I find a puddle under my machine in t...

I Googled this product and found some discussion as to whether it's safe or not: http://www.apneasupport.org/viewtopic.php?p=60521 I'd love a eucalyptus scent (I'm hooked on the scent of the skin lotion you get on a Princess Cruise, but it's not available anywhere). Still, I'd like to hear more abou...

Sphere, how's it going? I'm back to using my CPAP regularly, now that the pericarditis has resolved. I have, however, been diagnosed with an auto-immune disorder (non-specific, but it's similar to lupus) so the pericarditis could recur. The CPAP could act as sort of an early-warning system, now that...

Jeepster, my CPAP was lowered from 9 to 7 at one point and it helped temporarily. If your pain continues please don't delay in seeing your doctor!
