It can be taken apart. Yes they are very quiet.
I was able to stay on the machine for almost 5 hours. I did take my head gear off, but stayed in bed for another couple of hours.

Re: I'm back, with a new Machine
It needed to be replaced. I didn't look at the new one to compare it to the old one. All nose pillows are the same... right?LinkC wrote:If your old mask was working, why not stick with it?

I'm back, with a new Machine
I went to the VA to get new hoses, etc. They gave me a whole new machine, a ResMed S9 with a H5i. The mask is a Swift FX nasal pillow. The setup is a lot quieter then my old machine, which for me is disappointing. I like the air noise, it helped me sleep. I'm on my 2nd day. My struggles are keeping ...

Re: Has anybody been "cured" of sleep apnea?
I would say for about 12 years. I've added about 150 lbs since the first cure. I'm know my weight plays a role. I was also struggling with some medication at the time. I didn't seem to hit overnight. There were a lot of things going in my life at the time and sleep apnea was one of the problems. Lat...

Re: Has anybody been "cured" of sleep apnea?
Yes but, but it returned. Guess that is a no. I was diagnosed with Sleep Apnea almost 17 years ago. I could not tolerate the machine. The doctor suggested surgery, which did cure the sleep apnea. It was OSA. Fast forward to 2 years ago. I was having trouble doing simple tasks, could not even add 2+2...

Off of CPAP for several months
Well p-h-h-h-t, I fell off the hosehead wagon several months ago due to a cold with a clogged nose. I use the Swift Nasal Pillows. I tried the full face mask and it put too much pressure on my forehead. Well, I got back on the CPAP two nights ago. I am struggling with a dry nose. Both nights I manag...

Something you touched on your wife may be experiencing is something I went through. "I had to put something on my face that had a death grip on my head that was suppose to make me feel better. Yeah right!" I initially had problems and reacted as though I was being claustrophobic. Which really surpri...

April? Fooled me, it's 40 outside. Negative on the KFC. Can no longer eat there since they started serving fish. Severe fish allergies. One thing I miss no longer living in the South is the Buffalo's. ...and a waffle house on every corner. Plenty of room near the CPAP... Have a flash light laying ne...

CPAP now blowing warmer air.
I'd been off my machine for a few days. (Bad cold, clogged nose) I jumped back on it the other day and noticed that the air is more warmer than I recall it being from the previous time I used the CPAP. I remember before enjoying the cool breeze. Now it seems to be blowing warmer air. I check the hum...

I work night shift and sleep during the day. I have discovered that there are all sorts of weird odors I wake up to. Including and occasional burning smell. I installed a smoke detector in my bedroom (really we should have one already). Speaking of which, I need to replace the battery in my smoke de...

Not sure, but I think I could now hear a gnat fart over the sound of the machine. (can I say that?) I like that. I've learned to use "I can hear ants tip toeing over the grass blades across the street." I slept through a 3 alarm fire, once. Another time I was awakened to the noise of someone saying...

Re: Update
Does anyone here have a real, legal opinion on this matter? If you do I would love to talk about it. I am considering calling the police and having the store owner arrest for theft. To be serious: The only person that can give you legal advice would be an attorney. In order for an attorney to give ...

There's a couple of approaches: 1) Put the program CD or DVD and install it. 2) Go to the programs website and seach to see if it supports Vista 3) Google the program name and Vista and see what what you find. I am migrating to Vista at this time. I've ran across a driver issue for my old Sound Blas...
