Re: changing from a Swift FX to a full face

Thanks Pugsy. I picked up two new full face masks today which will hopefully let me increase the pressure without excessive leaks. I'll try them and let you know how they went.

changing from a Swift FX to a full face

I am trying to change from using Swift FX nasal pillows to an F20 full face mask. Unfortunately my AHI increases from about one with pillows to 15-20 with the F20. My low pressure is 5 cm and my high is 8 cm. Can anybody recommend a better pressure setting for the full face mask?

Sleep-doctor recommendation for east of San Francisco

Can anybody recommend a good sleep-doctor in the San Francisco East-Bay region? My wife has tried two in Pleasanton has not been happy with them.

Sleepyhead cannot find the data on my SD card. Everything has been working fine until now. My computer can open the card directly and read it, but no luck with Sleepyhead. Last night I bought a new card and it works fine, but no luck with the old card. Does anybody have an idea how I can make the o...

Re: Broken Heater Hose

I took my unit into Apria yesterday. The problem was in the three electrical contacts at the outlet of the humidifier. The technician said that I could probably have repaired it myself by somehow cleaning the corrosion off the contacts. Instead, he replaced the entire humidifier, heated hose and mai...

Broken Heater Hose

I have a Respironics System One with a heated hose, but the heater in the hose no longer functions. I tried a new hose but the problem remains. Do any of the readers here know how to repair this unit?

Norton Alert for Sleepyhead

I am running an older version of Sleepyhead. When I run the Norton Power Eraser, it calls out Sleepyhead as a possible problem. Has anyone else encountered this. If so, what did you do about it.

Re: Kaiser Permanente HMO

My old CPAP broke a few years ago and Kaiser got me a Respironics System One with a heated humidifier, and a Swift nasal mask. I requested a heated hose, which they issued, but said I would have to pay for it myself. But they never billed me for the hose. Now I get replacement heated-hoses with no q...

Re: SleepyHead Series 60 Patch Avail

I got the patch to download and install successfully. The trick was to keep trying to download it until a right-click on the mouse showed that it could be unzipped. Both the System 60 CPAP and the patched-Sleepyhead work perfectly. By using Sleepyhead, I become aware of how crappy Encore is. It is u...

Re: SleepyHead Series 60 Patch Avail

I can dowload the replacement sleepyhead exec file OK, but when I try to unzip it, I get the messge "the program cannot start because the file mingwm10.dll is missing". I am running System 7. Can anybody tell me how to overcome this problem?

Re: Switching to Kaiser So Cal

No choice. I have some questions for anyone currently covered by Kaiser So Cal. If one has already had a sleep test and is already on CPAP, does Kaiser accept the status quo or require a new sleep test? Which DME does Kaiser So Cal use? I switched to Kaiser NorCal two years ago and they accepted my...

Re: User Guide for CMS 50F Pulse Oximeter

Anybody have a link to the most current version of the User Manual for the CMS 50F Pulse Oximeter? It came within a week of ordering. The manual that came with mine may not be current with respect to importing real time data and reviewing stored data. Referenced icons, for example, do not match wha...

Re: Does a C.A. represent no breathing?

I also use Sleepyhead and love it! I noticed that the pressure is only 5? I had the same issue last week and my machine had some glitch and it reset to manufacturer settings. I had no idea only that I didn't sleep so great for a few nights because I felt like I was trying to breath harder. I put my...

Re: Does a C.A. represent no breathing?

I would see the Doc and take a readout or summary report. She had many more centrals than obstructives or hypopneas. Don't worry, they can be treated by changing pressures or sometimes a different machine is needed. Sometimes the pressure is too high or too low. Is she taking any new meds that may ...
