Re: Mouth Taping - adhesive irritation
I have the same problem with saliva loosening the tape - it obviously means that my mouth is opening. I solve that by pursing my lips and taping moderately firmly. It keeps my mouth closed during the night. It also prevents me from mouth breathing through the tape. I use up to four layers of tape to...

Re: Mouth Taping - adhesive irritation
After much experimentation I found that the problem was that no matter how gently I removed the micropore tape it still pulled skin off my face. The problem was not allergy but removal. The solution came to me one morning - my saliva, using my tongue, loosens the tape. Applying the saliva with my fi...

Re: Mouth Taping - adhesive irritation
I used to work with premies. We used tincture of benzoin on their very delicate skin. It secured the tape for IVs and put a layer of protection on their skin. to remove the tape we used acetone, basically nail polish remover. Tincture of benzoin should be available in amy pharmacy. The chemical in ...

Re: Mouth Taping - adhesive irritation
Has anyone who uses the Micropore tape found that they could not use the blue painter's tape but could use the Micropore? I tried the painter's tape but I found myself taking it off in the night because the moisture from my breath or mouth made it not stick anymore. Anyone else have this trouble? I...

Re: Mouth Taping - adhesive irritation
I've found that the 3M micropore tape is so effective that I only need to use a small piece and press it on very lightly - when I wake in the morning the tape is still in place doing it's job but it's so easy to remove. I used to tape my whole mouth and press the tape on tight but the next morning ...

Re: Mouth Taping - adhesive irritation
I'm very pleased with Chin-up strips. http://www.chinupstrip.com/index.html I started with the "boomerang" shaped strips but my cheek skin is too fragile, so now I use the "horseshoe" shaped strips that do not extend to the side to my cheek apples. I've also been using their ReliaMed® Protective Ba...

Re: Mouth Taping - adhesive irritation
Yeah, that looks like me in my more extreme experiments. I'll try the Superband and the blue tape. I'll also experiment with the Ace bandage. I see potential there.

Re: Mouth Taping - adhesive irritation
Thanks for all the suggestions. The irritation is chemical not physical. I remove the tape gently. Two spots will begin to show irritation, and as I continue to use the tape, they become worse each morning, deeper and could cause scarring I believe if not treated. I treat them with anti biotic and t...

Re: Mouth Taping - adhesive irritation
Painters tape - I tried it just once, not long enough for a good test. It seemed pretty rough. Apparently it doesn't bother you?

Mouth Taping - adhesive irritation
I tape my mouth and it works for me long term. I use 3M micropore. However, the adhesive has begun to severely irritate my skin around my mouth to the point where I can no longer use tape. I've tried different kinds of tape and other methods and masks and taping with my nasal pillows and bipap is th...

Oxygen Concentrator
I am using an oxygen concentrator which is keeping my oxygen at the proper level and is helping my sleep. Literature indicates that the oxygen is 96% concentrated which, not being a chemist, does it mean 96% of pure oxygen? And, is the 96% concentrated oxygen flammable? Thanks for your responses. JPO

Re: Poll: Remembering Dreams
I don't remember dreams. Not surprising as my REM sleep is less than 1/3 the normal amount. Not even sure that I dream at all. howkim, how do you know the how long your REM sleep is? I'm interested in measuring the length of my REM and stages of sleep. My dreams have become very realistic compared ...

Re: Zeo Personal Sleep Coach?
I am beginning to believe that Zeo may worth trying on the 30-day trial. The technology appears to work as advertised. In researching I came across Cleveland Med sleep devices here http://www.clevemed.com/products_sleep_disorders/sleep_disorders_products.shtml They have at least one home device that...
