Re: First night with Quattro FX FFM

Jim thanks for your response. My nasal mask is due for replacement. I wear it and a cpap cap because of mouth breathing. I have been compliant for 15 years and used a Breeze for 4...nasal pillows. Lots of leakage and fragile. That was my first mask. I have been very tired lately. Fell asleep at work...

Re: First night with Quattro FX FFM

That was the ResMed Quattro. It's gone...failed. Rolling on my side it snorted and hooted worse than I did. This is getting serious now. Frankly the instructions posted above for the Quattro were scary. Antii leak strap (PadACheek)--bless them. What more do we have to wear to be able to stay leak fr...

Re: First night with Quattro FX FFM

Follow up...took the mask back. Sounded like a trumpet! Enough is enough!

Another full face mask out on trial. Here's hoping...

Re: First night with Quattro FX FFM

Well I'm computer challenged, and have a Mac. Perhaps I can look at those at work, where I'm chained to a pc.

Re: First night with Quattro FX FFM

Very very helpful...thank you.
I shall take a look.
My cable reel kept bouncing on the wall last night. Found this out when I was trying to direct the hose over my head and behind me...need to try today when I'm not so tired!

Help Needed with ResMed Full FAce Masks

Edit: change the title. I've tried 6 masks! Brought 4 home. This question was about "First Night with Quattro FX FFM (Full Face Mask) Well...I'm not sure. First off I had trouble getting comfortable with it. Seemed I had to do it up too tight. And perhaps that makes it less comfortable. Woke up feel...

Re: Any "oldies" ever revisit your "newbie" posts?

Good exercise. I find that sometimes things go bad. But they happen slowly. It's hard to figure out what is really bad in my treatment...maybe my "old" mask isn't old enough to show wear... My sleep doc doesn't care, as long as I wear the gear. DaveL I did - just for the fun of it. Actually I was wo...

Re: What has been your biggest mistake in dealing with apnea?

Thanks for your response! Very helpful. DaveL Toronto Doctors have a different standard than I do. That is, for a doc, good compliance, AHI less than five, not a lot of leaks. The doc is good with my treatment. I want quality of life. To have successful sleep, I needed an AHI of more like .2 or .3. ...

Re: Which hybrid mask?

I've been compliant for 15+ yrs. Same sleep doc for 10. I just got critical, and may be out the door anyway. I finally got a subscription for a mask, and cpap after 15 years when I asked him what would happen if I lost my machine (burn out? theft?) and didn't like his response...so I asked for a pr...

Re: Which hybrid mask?

Interesting thread, and I"m interested in this mask. However, my service provider recommended against it. I'm a sometime mouth breather. Normally I use a cpap-cap to hold my jaw in place, and a nasal mask. I tried a couple of full face masks and had no luck with them (with a previous provider, who ...

Re: O/T Hearing Aid Forums?

Nate that's quite a story. Just my opinion, I think that some providers pray on OSA patients, and people with hearing loss too. I'm glad you can laugh at it; I have a bad story with my sleep doc, and regret that I am still a patient. I recently read a rating for him on a rate-your-doc site that soun...

Re: O/T Hearing Aid Forums?

The audiologist worked magic. She adjusted volumes for me. Extended the 1 month trial period for another month... I'm happy. (It has been a long time coming; however, that is my fault. I was simply turned off by the audiologist who provided my first hearing aid. 10 years ago. Finding the right audio...

Re: O/T Hearing Aid Forums?

Checking in with the audiologist tomorrow. Happy: * so easy to wear (behind the ear with a tube in the ear) * no wind noise! (my old one used to make me deaf!) * helps with every day listening chores Not so: * not very good in noisy environments * can't hear the "tones" when I change programs in a n...

Re: How many of you used to have eye migraines prior to xPAP?

I have them too...until recently, 3 a week. (since about '96 when they became much more frequent forme.)

Lately? I have 2 glasses of water before breakfast. first thing in the morning. Have no idea why, but it seems to work. I'm having about 2 every three weeks, and they are less severe.
