Re: Polident Strips or Paste - Need instructions from a "pro"
Been using them for almost two years. You curve the strip by a series of small bends until it matches the curve of your mouth. I wet my lips with my tongue and the strip in my mouth with saliva. Push it into place (with my tongue) in the center of my mouth to where I can just feel the edges of the ...

Re: OptiLife and the hose clamp
Are you using a regular hose or the performance hose? I find that a regular hose is really too heavy for the OptiLife and that the lightweight performance hose works much better. Most of the time I don't even bother with the clip but just drape the hose over my shoulder/arm or put it in front of me,...

A neck brace would clearly be even better since it could hold things in place better. I'm sure you would be sore by morning though Well if you go by Bab's you better hide that neck brace, I hear she's into whips and chains and that would probably give her the wrong idea On the other hand, after the...

You don't say what type of mask you're using; I've found that makes a difference for me. I never used my humidifier when I was using the Ultra Mirage FFM because it retained a lot of moisture anyway. After switching to the OptiLife, I found the air going directly through my nares to be much more dry...

I really can't advocate strongly enough getting out of the country for a while in order to take a look in from the outside. Getting away can give you a different perspective but not necessarily any answers. Granted, the differences you find depend on the culture in which you find yourself. And I th...

Re: I'm 3 MONTHS on CPAP and still can't get to sleep
6. ...on CPAP I feel that I am forced to take long, measured breaths. I become hyper-aware of my breathing and this helps to keep me awake. I also feel as if I am not fully filling my lungs with air (I have had a pulmonary function test and am not asthmatic, nor do I have any breathing problems) Yo...

Re: Can't Help But Respond
I am now only carrying the cpap through the security checkpoint. All the rest of my cpap equipment (hose, mask, extension cord, etc) is carried in my checked baggage. I certainly hope your checked baggage doesn't go astray... I know several people who have traveled by plane recently who had to wait...

Thanks for all of the suggestions; I appreciate your input. Unfortunately, repeated attempts to get a copy of my PSG were unsuccessful; they would only send me the transcribed report. Here are the details: Total sleep recording time : 463 minutes (pretherapy total recording time: 169.5 minutes) Tota...

WearyOne, I don't think so, unless it's there and I just don't know how to access it. I set it to 9 last night, but it's not really a fair trial because I went to bed way too late and only got about 4-1/2 hours of sleep. (I normally get about 6-1/2, which I know still isn't enough but I'm working on...

Go for it! It's YOUR therapy. Oh, I agree with you there! I'm just wondering if there's anything I should be aware of like what potential risks there could be if I set my pressure too high (no, I'm not worried about bumping it up to 8 but wondering what could happen if I keep bumping it up). I have...

? regarding adjusting pressure
Sorry, I'm not having any luck finding anything with the search function. Long story short: The last few days I've been waking up tired, the way I was before starting CPAP therapy. I've put on some weight in the past couple of months and am wondering if my pressure needs have changed. No, I don't ha...

I use two of these types of containers: http://www.sterilite.com/Category.html? ... tegory=43#, one for the mask and one for the hose. In my carryon, these fit nicely in one section with my CPAP nestled in between them.
