Re: You need a snuggle hose

I had BAD rainout, so I ordered a snuggle hose from cpap.com. My humidifer is set at 4 and I keep my bedroom temperature at 70 or below. So far, I have not had a single night with rainout since I got the snuggle hose. It was well worth it. Hope this helps. My dad does not use a humidifier and the m...

Mask Rainout?

After my dad changed into a 420e, there has been a problem about mask rainout-- without the use of a humidifier. He has been trying out Somnosmart and REMStar Auto Classic and there had been little rainout problem-- at most some condensation seen on the mask but not rainout. However after using the ...

Rubber Smell from new hose

My dad got his new Remstar Tank Auto.

Now the problem is the new hose that came with it was very smelly, from all the rubber and stuff; I just wonder how to remove it? Is vinegar enough?

Thanks!

I think Sam's point is that trialling multiple Autos is impractical because of cost. Cost is one thing, but the main thing is: although trial and error is itself scientific, asking everyone to be their own guinea pig is is hardly so. I used the analogy of SSRI because doctors different SSRIs work s...

Re: Rise up!

Or.... As I've so frequently stated, given the apparent clinically significant differences between the algorithms developed by the competing manufacturers, urge SDB patients to abandon their tragic and potentially catastrophic passivity and demand that they be given the opportunity to try as many a...

Hey all, I wonder if I should summarize that other test, in which I think is more sophisticated (but still iron lung ) than this, and if yes, post in this thread or a new one. Sam, Can you provide any more detailed info from this report ? http://www.chestjournal.org/cgi/content/full/130/2/312 Many ...

Eh, SAG, My dad's not titrating. He is testing around for APAPs. 1.5 weeks later he'd be on a Remstar w/C-Plus Auto.

As probe is concerned-- my dad is now having a 2-week test on a Somnosmart, and I see there's a tube in the factory-supplied hose a la P-B 420E.

What I can just say is, if Uncle Sam thinks it's big enough problem, NIH and other grants would prove big enough to acquire all CPAP producers in the world, let alone doing bigger investigations.

Re: They're Great Studies

So if you want to go from the bench to the bedroom and really judge treatment effectiveness, you'll either have to get PSG on APAP SAG This has also been called for in the unsummarized test paper which asked for somthing more than flow rate be measured. In that paper, it has shown most APAPs increa...

Bearded_one: In HK people don't usually have medical insurance, since, like Europe, it has national medical system. However, CPAPs are excluded from this unless proven financial need. Two or three? There are 9 APAPs sold here: Respie RemStar and M-series P-B 420E Weinmann SOMNOsmart2 Viasys Delphinu...

[quote="Anonymous"]cpap.com sends stuff to Hong Kong, can't you just order it directly from them on-line and have it sent via USPS ->Hong Kong Post? We can have stuff shipped here from HK and it only cost about $7 US and took only a week. My dad is still trying different APAPs; how can he have a dec...
