Oral Appliance Dentists
The dentist I go to does all dental work and also specializes in oral appliances for sleep apnea. They are in a western suburb of Chicago -Naperville, if anyone is near there and interested. Since I'm in a HMO, I was referred to them directly by my sleep doctor and I've been very happy with them. So...

Oral Appliance
I know this is a CPAP forum and you guys/girls are as helpful a group as anyone could ask for. I got lots of help here from my questions and past posts. However, it didn't seem to be working great for me and since my doctor recommended it and my insurance was willing to pay, I decided to try an oral...

thanks
Thanks a lot tangents. Just FYI everyone, this is intestinal surgery not related to OSA. They're saying I'll be in the hospital for 5-6 days. So much fun. Wish they had internet so I could really keep up on all this good info - and give me something to do.

Still Here
Yes tangents - thanks - I'm still watching, and from all the caring people here and my doctor I do realize that I have no choice and absolutely have to use my cpap after my surgery at least until I'm totally off the pain meds. The hospital did a pre-interview and said to bring my mask and have it do...

Switch?
Slightly different twist to un-remembered events. The other night I went to sleep with my fairly new Breeze. When I woke up, 'someone' had switched me to my Swift without me even knowing about it???

Xian, I just got that mask recently myself. On mine if I'm understanding you correctly that front piece slides into the head piece and actually clicks in, then can click in at several different positions. Does yours do that? I am having the same problem with the pillows and holder putting pressure o...

Re: I encourage
Thank you everyone truely for your concern and the warnings about cpap use and surgery. I actually had a Dr appointment yeaterday for some pre-surgery tests and was asking him about the cpap use and he told me about the importance of cpap use while being medicated for the pain for the days following...

Anyone try/look into surgery?
I was just wondering if anyone has looked into surgery to correct their apnea. I know if someone did it and it was successful, they probably wouldn't be on this forum any more. But was wondering if anyone tried and it wasn't successful - or at least looked into it? I made an appointment with an ENT ...

Wow
Wow - over 3500 reads! Just figured I should be a part. I'm said to have a good sense-of-humor and I thought the original post could have made for some humorous responses. (If humor can be had - I will find it though) I'm new, but I've seen many people here show that they do have a sense-of-humor. T...

MAsks
I'm new also and it's hard to comprehend having to do this. I started with an Ultra Mirage nasal mask and I could fall asleep but I wasn't too comfortable. (Oh, and I also take Ambien so that should really make it easy for me.) Anyway, I switched to a Swift pillow system because I was looking for so...

Encore Pro - Any detailed info?
I've got my Encore Pro up and running and downloaded my data. I see compliance, patterns of use, and some stats. Is there any real detailed info on here. I though that I read somewhere (Read so much in the last month though that I'm not sure what I read any more.) that the SmartCard stores detailed ...

Works
I kept playing and it's working. I double clicked on myself as the patient and it opened up another more detailed screen. That had another download option which I selected and it worked!!! Now I go back to the original screen and it will download from there too. (I love software) Now to start deciph...

Next Problem
OK - I finally got it working (almost). First, I installed everything on another computer in the right order and it actually does use the 2800.sys driver, but evidentally the Encore version does something else in the Encore software to allow the card reader to be recognized. In case anyone searches ...

Still not working
I uninstalled the card reader and then started over. I ran the Encore installation I got with the software (v 1.7) and rebooted as indicated. When I plug the reader in, it still does not recognize it and says new hardware found and kicks off the installation wizard. The wizard looks for the 2800.sys...
