After having just switched to an APAP after 2 years with CPAP, the APAP is much better for me. The reason is that my CPAP was set for 14 and in reading the APAP data I spend nearly all of the night in the 8-10 range with momentary jumps up to 12. Less pressure means almost no leaks and not disruptio...

ResMed S8 Vantage noise question
I have been using this for a week and with each breath, the machine changes the noise pitch. It's almost like I can hear my breathing coming out of the machine. Does anyone else have this? It is normal for the machine?

What's wrong with having more pressure than you need?
Being a first time APAP user and running in the 9-10 range 95% of the time, it makes me wonder about the 2 years I spent on a CPAP at 14. What is the side effect have having more pressure than you need? Does it negatively impact sleep somehow? I feel great after just 2 days on Auto so I presume that...

New Resmed S8 Vantage user--Data questions
I am on my second night with the Resmed S8 Vantage in the Auto setting, and I have a couple of questions about the nightly data it provides on the LCD screen. I know that the AI and AHI are hourly averages correct? What about the pressure? Is that an hourly average, or the maximum pressure used an a...

Steve, ufo 13 Thanks for the the excellent perspective on my original question. I've turned off the C-Flex on my machine and I'm going to try it for several days and see if I miss it. After one night I noticed that I don't have my Activa Mirage mask feeling like it is inflating and deflating with ev...

1st time APAP user choosing between S8 and Respironics
I presently use a Respironics C-Flex CPAP with a setting of 15. I would like to switch to an auto machine since there is such positive feedback on APAP's. I am choosing between the Resmed S8 and the soon-to-be-released M series Respironics Auto. I've read all the posts and it seems to come down to C...

Great pillow for side sleepers!
I have read so many posts about side sleepers hanging off the edge of their pillows so the mask doesn't leak. Or people wearing nasal headgear for the same reason. I want to share my solution that has been working very well for me for 2 years. It sounds crazy, but I use a Tempur-Pedic Body Pillow. I...
