DMEs are always trying to sell the lowest price equipment for the highest price. My dad got an inferior machine for a total of $1200, with a swift mask. It was the basic Remstar. His portion was only $250. If you look on CPAP.com, I think they had the same model for $350 or $400. The auto with C-fle...

If you suspect sleep apnea, talk to a doctor. Get the child tested if this is deemed warranted. The sooner she gets help the better off she'll be. I wore eyeglasses at 5 years old. Nobody thought anything of it. This is something she'll only wear to sleep in. It's not public information unless she ...

It really does take time to notice anything. It may save your life also. Don't give up. Use it when you nap even. Does your mask work well? I used several masks and found the Activa works best for me. I might try a pillow system later, but right now I have no leaks. These leaks may wake you up at ni...

Children with Apnea

I am 46 and use a CPAP. My dad uses a CPAP. But now I listen to my daughter sleep at night and I KNOW she has OSA. I feel bad for her. Every night she can baarely make air pass through her airway. I can tell if it is her sinuses, but I suspect it is the back of the throat because she does not have a...

Thanks sleeper. That solves that.

My dad has been set up with a CPAP now. His is using a pillow configuration. I love the Activa and am thinking about getting some pillows. He has no trouble.

You know, I rarely clean the hose. Maybe I should do it more often, but I use distilled water in the humidifier. Bacteria need water to survive. If the hose dries out, there will be no bacterial build up. There is bacteria in the tap water, so I am veery of pumping that through my hose. Maybe I shou...

If treatment air is detouring out your mouth, it's no wonder you are still sleepy, surreysinner. That is the reason I bought a couple full face masks. It will wake you up. Also, it takes time to get used to the treatment. I don't need the FF mask now, but like the Activa nasal mask best. Very rarel...

My hubby showed me what to do with my mask and hose and I still do it my way. I use a vinegar and water solution. This is a very good disinfectant and it keeps the mold and mildew down. I think that is what the experts say to do. I did it once and thought I rinced it out good enough. I coughed up a...

You may want to stay up late the night before the study and wake up early. This way you will be tired. The mask is important. I have bought several masks on CPAP.com. I also bought my machine here. I use the humidity most of the night. I also like the Activa mask best. There are some good full face ...
