Cardboard flap is an excellent idea.
Not sure what results I am supposed to be able to see other than number of hours used as the booklet that comes with the machine only has some elementary set up steps.

We are all scuba divers!
I had a fairly easy transition as I did a lot of scuba diving in the late 80s. I do remember how difficult it was for me diving at the beginning as I not only had to deal with getting used to having a dive mask strapped to my face and a regulator in my mouth but having a closed in feeling from the w...

Any S9 owners out there, I have a question
I was questioning on an earlier post about my Remstar Plus and starting to snore again. It was recommended that I consider a new machine with a data recorder that would tell me what is goin on. I purchased a Resmed S9 and can tell you right off the bat that my old machine must have been going bad as...

VA claim
Kevin; As stated by the replies, unless you have entries in your med record during your service where you were seen for sleep issues then you are going to have a long road ahead of you convincing the VA that it was "service connected". Highly recommend you Contact the DAV who has representatives tha...

Earlier version yes
I experienced a reaction immediately from the back strap upon using the ComfortLite which I take to be the earlier version. I stopped using it and the itching went away in about a week. I stopped primarily since it was a free temp until my Activa arrived. But for the 2 weeks I did use it the itching...

Medical tape
I picked up some NEXCARE gentle tape in the section where most stores sell bandaids and such, to reduce the marking on the bridge of the nose. I believe that it helps prevent the deep creases because the surface tension of the tape helps distribute the force upon it. Not sure if you would want to ru...

Thanks
Thanks, already have some forehead pads for my Activa on order with her.
As wicked as the reaction was from the strap, I don't want to take any chances of leak-through on whatever agent is in the material. Just simply going to replace it.
Still would like to know what was in it though.

Head Strap Reaction
I am now convinced that I experienced an allergic reaction to the back strap of a ComfortLite mask. Within two days of using the mask I began to get an itching, primarily in the back of the head with a little above and behind the ears. The itching was not responding to any shampoos or anti itch medi...

Somnoplasty
Don't know in comparison what would be more efficient for reducing the uvula, by I have gone through two treatments of somnoplasty. As a result of the treatments, my uvula is now half the size it was originally. The biggest problem I encountered is that the procedure caused the uvula to swell up to ...

Absolutely Fantastic!!!
That is great! My daughter was diagnosed with Graves Disease in 1990 when she was 12 years old and also got the eye involvement. Our first clue was her rapid breathing in her sleep. What is amazing is how quickly the disease popped up on her; don't know if the speed of the disease was coincidental w...

Hose Puller
I started with mine on the floor but went to the night stand as I found that the hose had more pull from the floor. Anyone have any detailed tips on how to secure the hose so that it is not a pulling force on the mask? If so, I will gladly put the unit back on the floor rather than risk pulling it o...

Me too
I experience the same thing. The itching is on the outside of my nose and not a result of fiber or hair. I don't have a heater or humidifier set up, and don't plan on getting one since I don't have any dry nose issues. Suspect the itching is a result of the fact that I have air swirling around the n...

By Jove I think he's got it
Speaking third person of course. Last two nights I have not been woken up by leaks, nor do I have a Frankenstein mark on my nose. The solution was: with my blower off, snugging down just the upper straps to the point that the forehead pad lightly touched the forehead. But leaving the lower two loose...

One step foward, one step back
Had only a very minor mark on the bridge of my nose but was woken up at around 4 am due to leaks. Suspect the straps were too loose as the hose had a tendency to steer the mask around my face and the fore head pad hardly even touched my forehead. Going to put the pad in the full bent position and ad...
