Leak with full face mask
Mindy, I have used a full face mask for 2+ years. In fact, I have used the Ultra Mirage FF mask for most of that time. I can think of only one possible reason for the leak you describe, that being that the connection of the mask to the hose was not tight. I have had this happen once or twice. The ma...

Anyone using Sona Pillow?
Heard about sona pillow on local sportstalk radio station when radio host and a local sportscaster were talking about it. It looks interesting, but I am weary as to whether it really helps or not. I am not looking into as a replacement for CPAP (although that would be nice), but as a way to increase...

Not a Dentist, but I have seen one recently.
Gotair, I am not a dentist, but have seen my teeth get worse during the last 18 months on CPAP with a full face mask. Drying out of mouth does increase plaque and bacteria on teeth. Dentist recommended Crest mouthwash product (forgot exact name). Helps with teeth and gum disease by killing bacteria....

I may attend.
This is the first I have heard of it. I live in suburbs of Mpls and am very familiar with that area. I will certainly look into it and may attend.

You hit it on the head
Neversleeps, Finally someone put in writing what I have felt since being diagnosed with High Blood Pressure three years ago. A variety of health issues related to weight affect me, yet, despite a past history of losing weight (lost 35 pounds once and 18 pounds just a few years ago), I choose not to ...

It was so good to read your post. I am glad all went well. Could it be the brightness this morning that I thought was the sun shining was really your excitement that the surgery went well? Anyway, congrats and good luck.

I like the Mirage
I have been using my Ultra Mirage FF mask for almost 4 weeks. I have not encounted the whistling and other noises that people have. I think it is a great mask and strongly recommend it. However, as was said above, the fit and comfort of the mask is a highly individualized thing.

Size of Meeting
There were probably 50-75 people at the meeting and maybe 8 vendors. Certainly not a convention size group.

I went to a meeting
I went to an AWAKE meeting. Unfortunately, it was held one hour after getting my CPAP . The meeting I went to in St. Paul, Minnesota was actually pretty good. They had reps from the main vendors there to answer questions and try masks. It was really timely since the comfort curve was just hitting th...

Exhalation Port needs to be fitting correctly
The exhalation port is near the bridge of the nose. It is a oval shaped rubber piece with holes in it. If it is not fully installed, it will leak slightly causing the whistle. Examine it closely and make sure that it sits flat on the mask. Air will come out the holes in the port when working correct...

Whistling
When I got my Ultra Mirage FF mask, the whistling was coming from the exhilation port which is located near the bridge of the nose. My DME said it was from the membrane not being installed tight. He pushed it a little more and it sealed properly and has not whistled since. By your description your m...
