Hi Craig,

The Smartcard has a capacity of 32 kilobytes.
The way it stores data is quite sophisticated.
I read the content of the card once a week and then delete.
It surely has space for one week's data.

I will come with more details within a couple of days.

card content

Metron9,
I have a program to read/write the card. The structure of the data on the card is now clear. Within a couple of days I'll have more news on this.

DSM,
I think I am not far from the solution to fully control the data on the card.

I can format a blank card for the RemStar, just using its driver and a piece of software I have written. DSM: you are right, "Next issue then is understanding what data is on a RemStar smart card." It is not so simple, I am working on that. One problem (information needed to formatting) has been sol...

The key is the Card itself not the Reader (more specifically: the information on the newly purchased card). The "empty" card is not really empty. The card is pre-formatted by the manufacturer (Respironics). It means some data are already on the card before the first use. This way the user can only u...

HisServ, Nowadays I always have AHI less than 1.0 most nights 0.3-0.5 Is it low enough? It was not so earlier I can tell! I think most people here are very positive to this, because we know that there is no other alternative than learning the lesson: how to make maximum profit of using the machine. ...

Gil, When you install Encore Pro it installs MS SQL Server too. If you have SQL already installed, it can be a conflict when Encore Pro installation comes to the point to install SQL. If you don't need earlier version of MS SQL, I suggest to uninstall it and then install Encore Pro and will go fine....

What about other treatments/medicines prescribed by physicians? For example tablets for high blood pressure. If the prescription says two tablets a day, and the patient takes occasionally three tablets a day (just he/she feels so, by own decision) would the consequences be the same (insurance etc)? ...

mask cleaning in sleep lab

How do you think the sleep labs clean their masks? They obviously have a set of masks that are in use on titrations for long time. Or are you sure you got a brand new mask when you were on titration? So, the very same mask is used from time to time by different patients. My optimistic opinion: the l...

ozij,
Certainly. And the user of the new generation machine just will have to make sure to have a good glass of wine before switch on the machine. I am already very good at this (I mean the wine...). One has to start somewhere the development!

Hi Ozij, Thanks for your post, you are right, this board has a rich history worth searching. I agree patents are better than secrets (I wish I could convert my secrets to patents...). I've read through a couple of patents, from the texts I understand the algorithms used in these machines are not sim...
