Just thought I'd chime in here. I'm 24. I sleep with my machine every night. I was diagnosed at 23 with severe OSA. Whipper-snappers use CPAP too. Ultimately though, no amount of concern, badgering, or nagging is going to get that mask on her face. She has to want this for herself, but personally I ...

If it were me, I'd turn on auto mode and set it for 10 - 15, with C-flex set at 3. But that's just me. I'd also be sure to get the readings on the smart card for a week or so on those pressures. They'd tell you what you need to know. I'm no doctor either, but I don't think it's the end of the world...

I've had the most success with nasal pillows type masks. Unfortunately, even if you had the measurements on every mask out there, you still wouldn't be able to predict if one would work for you. Every mask fits slightly differently, even if the cushions are almost exactly the same size. So the best ...

I also couldn't find a good option to vote for in the poll. Money does matter to me. My insurance isn't _that_ good. Like Den, everything I've bought after the original setup with machine and hunk-a-junk mask has been out of pocket. I must say though, that I have always, and will always buy the best...

If you find that the chinstrap isn't working, then try suctioning your tongue towards the front (and top) of your mouth when you're falling asleep. It's really the tongue that forms the seal, and the strap is there to keep your jaw supporting your tongue in that position. Also, because of this, don'...

Re: Better metric than AHI?
So … isn't the "Total Time in Apnea" (as reported by Encore Pro) the most telling statistic? Personally, I don't think so. Most of my events are very short in duration, but result in arousals, meaning I get no real sleep. My total time in apnea numbers are always low, no matter how I feel. I think ...

Welcome to the world of CPAP. Yes, it's a very common thing. It's called aerophagia. Basically, the sphincter at the top of your stomach isn't strong enough to keep the pressurised air out. That means you wake up with bloating, extra gas, and even severe pain. I was never in the 'severe pain' catego...

Try an extra cover as others have mentioned. The Aussie Hose doesn't make you rainout free, but it certainly helps a lot. If you already have an extra cover on it, then try hanging the hose from above your head. If that doesn't help, then try putting the machine below the level you sleep at (like cl...

It won't give you better therapy just because it costs more. The BiPAP will possibly make your therapy more comfortable, but most people I've talked to with AFlex say they feel about the same. My take is try the other one for a week or so. Whichever one you find more comfortable, go with it. Oh, and...

Yup. If it's an M it'll be a blue light on top of the knob. If you can't get that style to work, try re-seating the machine on the humidifier base. Beyond that there's really not much you can do to fix them than take them back to whoever sold it to you. If it's the tank style, it'll be a green light...
