Re: My Battery Rig - Power Measurements
John I would be interested in knowing how your system behaved in a UPS type configuration. All of the solutions that I have seen are focused on a situation where you know that you are running off DC before you go to bed. Being able to sleep straight through a late-night power outage would be great f...

My Battery Rig - Power Measurements
I built a battery backup based on John B Fisher's excellent design: http://www.cpaptalk.com/viewtopic/t49115/viewtopic.php?p=449334 I get a lot of power outages late at night so I needed something that would keep the machine running without waking up suffocating and switch the power over. I use a hu...

Re: Zeo Personal Sleep Coach?
Fascinating. I feel the same way, I just want the raw data. I would like to know how much time I am spending in the various sleep phases. I would also like to know if any arousals happen and exactly when these occur. A minute by minute log with the time and the phase of sleep would be extremely help...

Re: Help for the CMS50E oximeter
Back after traveling, tried the oximeter for a second time - had two nice desats overnight between 2 and 3AM - O2 dropped to 85%, heart rate up a bit (only like 10bpm though) - just doesn't appear that my typical apnea event while on CPAP has much impact on my 02 levels. The data from the cpap says...

Re: Help for the CMS50E oximeter
Those of you with this thing - you set recording for 10 hours, sleep with it, then switch to 'upload' and connect to the computer? its awfully cute. If i hold my breath, I can't seem to make the spO2 drop.... Your summary is essentially correct. Remember that you have only one session of data. I ha...

Re: Best Mask for a Mustache
Another vote for the Swift LT. I have a mustache and the pillows fit up against the nose so the mustache is not involved. If the mustache is really bushy it might get in the way but I would try it.

Re: HELP! Hose keeps coming off of my mask!
At a year the hose might need replacement. The rubber ends get loose.
If you want to save the money, reverse the hose as Gerry suggests. If it doesn't hold well on the other end, use an auto hose clamp to secure it.

Re: Acceptable AHI Rate??
Generally 5 or below is considered good. 0 is perfect.
It's a far better measure to keep up with how you feel. A lot of people don't feel good at 5 and need to maintain lower numbers to feel right.

Re: Oximeter Readings
If the drop in blood oxygen is real them you should see a breathing event at the same time. It can be an apnea or hypopnea. Check the clocks on the devices. If they aren't set to the same time then you won't be able to match things up. I'l make a note of when I start the ox recording and when I star...

Re: What wakes us ?
I spent a lot of time with using a video camera, data capable APAP and an pulse oximeter. I found that the only time I would wake up in the middle of the night was when I had an apnea event with a destat (my destats were mild, around 88-90%.) I would wake up about 20 minutes later. If I don't have a...

Re: Anyone have a CSM50 E or F Pulse Oximeter??
I have the "F" and echo the comments made here. It stays in place and is reasonably comfortable. I'm glad I purchased it, I have learned a lot. It's not the easiest device to use but it you can read a "chinglish" manual and program a VCR you'll be fine. Most people have some small glitches getting s...

Re: Can Nasal Pillows Work with a Mustache?
So how did you keep straps in place? That seems like my husband's problem too. The back strap keeps sliding up. Thanks for your help. If the strap in back rides up this will cause the nasal piece to be too loose and leak, the mustache isn't the problem. I use this thing called the Slumbergear: http...

Re: Can Nasal Pillows Work with a Mustache?
I have a mustache and my Swift LT seals fine. It's not very bushy, that might make a difference. If it's bushy enough to push the pillows out of the way that could be the problem. Can you figure out why the mask isn't sealing? It could be that the hose is pulling it out of place or that the straps a...

Re: Sleep Tracker Pro
>> The fun thing to try is wear an oximeter on one wrist and the sleep tracker on another! I did that for some time. You print out the oximeter report on one page. Take the sleep watch and then put a tick for each "near awake" moment that the Sleep Tracker gives you. It lets you see your sleep cycle...
