Topic: Cause of moisture in mask?

most condensation from what I understand comes from the air in the room either being cooler than the heated mist going through the hose and mask or if it is more humid in weather etc. I bought a hose cover off of CPAP.com and it has helped tremendously. A lot of people have purchased the electronic ...

Thanks everyone. I am currently using a CPAP and the Swift Nasal mask. I switch on and off with the mirage face mask( only when I get sick or have nasal problems.) I am usually happy with my CPAP, but as of late, it's been more difficult. I seem to get sick (ear nose and throat ) more often lately, ...

Thanks Dog. Wont' try that again. Just thought I may see if perhaps someone here may have tried the "won't mention the other treatment option" name again prior to migrating to a CPAP- I device I do currently use. I consider myself slapped and won't offend again.

Dental Devices

Has anyone tried using a dental device instead of the a CPAP/APAP machine. I was having a conversation with the dentist today and was wondering how effective users think they are. it grows tiresome with the leaking masks, the mouth opening even with the chinstrap on and having a red indentation on m...

distilled water for the humidifier. I was sick before I got the new mask (Swift). I am hoping that it is just "slowing" down the healing process, but my gut tells me NO!!! I went back to my Respronics Comfort Lite Gel mask last night and my nose is much better today. It just feels more chlostrophobi...

Bummed

I am sooo bummed out. I really like how the Swift nasal fits and how light and much less of a obstructive force than the profile gel mask is. But unfortunately, I have to stop using it now. I have been continously sick with sinus infections, earaches, fluid in the ears since January. I had to turn t...

I gained an additional 10lbs in the first year of using the mask. Mostly to blame was my eating habits. Between working late and not being home for dinner, eating late and unhealthy take out didn't help. Also, being so stressed at work and hyper when I got home, snacking late at night became an issu...

You would think this happens less frequently now.

I was talking to this lady at work and she was complaining about her husband's snoring. Now that I am always looking for signs of Apnea in other people I started asking her questions. The brunt of the conversation disclosed that her husbands snores terribly, wakes at night gasping for air, suffers f...

Karen, Its great to be getting that much exercise. I commend you for getting up at 5:10 am. I don't think I can do that. With all the walking, you are probably replacing some fat loss with Muscle loss so don't get discouraged. Its a noble cause walking for Leukemia and Lymphoma. We are actually adop...

Not a good week for me, but not a bad week either. Atleast I remained the same. I started the SlimFast diet. I'm thinking with the reduction of food intake my metabolism slowed down as well. Damn body. I wish we could override that feature withhold imbibing a mouthful of stimulants. Karen, good luck...
