2listless -- that is so my experience also -- and the doctor keeps saying the same thing, prescribing meds, that only make apnea worse. I can run full tilt, even get a lot accomplished some nights when I just give up trying to sleep. I hate that creepy-crawly feeling laying in bed on and on waiting ...

Can you specify for the people who read your post, what your pressure is at, do you use the ramp feature, what machine you have, and which nasal pillows ? There's lots of people with experience out there to help. A few general thoughts: Sounds, generally, like even though you may have received decen...

HI Bmorroni -- It's hard to sleep with a turkey on your face. A stick-to-it attitude makes a difference, but finding the best mask for you makes it -- oh sooo much easier. I had to change from a mask like yours, 'cause I just don't like stuff over my face. Can you try some pressure on the DME , to g...

I also should probably let this go, but -- Dot and neversleeps IMHO are both giving snamvar part of what is needed when someone is depressed whether it is a clinical depression or not -- an ear, and knowing you matter. Whether one responder needs the aid of meds and another finds activities help is ...

I've been through a very sad divorce and the dark days that hang over you for awhile. It's your job to be good to yourself. Something nice just for you everyday. You count. Just you are important, There'll be bad days and better days. That's OK. Dig down where your "grit" is. Do you remember what co...

I don't know about the weight / Cpap connection. but it's funny, Sleeping, just today I wondered how I would feel if I had to hose it up every night when I was a decade ( or so ) younger.......most likely about the same as you do in your post. But someone would step up to me and say: Yeah, that hose...

Finally feel confident enough to travel with my machine -- I'm hoping no one has any bad airport stories to report, but thought I'd check here first.......one question is if they scan it or manually inspect it out of the bag ? Thanks....

The Activa mask is a favorite for a nasal mask. It's nice to have an alternate mask on hand -- switching masks every so often helps some to stick with it. Another good mask is the Swift -- it's less on the face with nothing on the forehead. What is the pressure you start out with before it "ramps" u...

You might want to try one night putting a strip of tape on your mouth ( with enough folded over at the end to give you a way to grab it to take it off easily ) to see if it's mouth-breathing that causing the dryness. I first used a nasal mask, couldn't get to sleep, and had a sandpaper dry mouth and...

Might there be a difference between washing, rinsing etc, with "contaminated" tap water as opposed to using it in a heated humidifier? Would the constant low heat in the humidifier encourage bacterial growth in that small sample of tap water -- and then it's blown as a vapor directly into your airwa...
