(In response to Frostman's statement about it treating OSA.) I use a bi pap at night to treat the OSA. It was confirmed in my 3rd sleep study that is properly being treated. If you have a 2nd sleep disorder (like me - idiopathic hypersomnolence) then the Provigil helps you stay awake during the day ...

I've been on Provigil for a few days. It's not like an upper that makes you want to leap up and run around. It's very subtle. I find that I am no longer yawning all the time and I don't feel like passing out like I did before. Are you taking it b/c of a second sleep disorder like Narc or IH?

Well, during the study you stay overnight (obviously) and they recheck your titration. That was all OK, so on paper I slept great. But felt horrible after I woke up. The next day you take several naps in 2 hour intervals. You wake at 6am, then take your naps at 8,10 ,12 2, & 4. Well, they give you 1...

This is coming from someone who has watched lots of his family lose a lot of weight - go with Weight Watchers. It works. You eat real food. All it does is teach you portion control. LOSE THE LOW CARB DIETS! They are so unhealthy and not good for you! Wonder why you are tired? Cause you need Carbs to...

3rd sleep study results

OK - went for my 3rd sleep study and my results came back that I have idiopathic hypersomnolence. My Dr. gave me Provigil and I took 1/2 a pill today. I already exercise regularly, but about 2 weeks before the results came back, I began working out WAY harder. It cut down my sleepiness dramatically....

Ok - I'll redo my post. I apologize for the confusion. Oh, and I am a 30 year old male by the way... I had 1 test and was diagnosed w/ OSA. Was on a CPAP for about a year and a 1/2. When the pressure was at 9, I asked for BiPap b/c of the trouble exhaling. Now that I am on the Bi-Pap, I am progressi...

What is the difference between APAP and Bi-Pap? I am very comfortable with the Bipap. It shuts off during the exhale which is great.

3rd Sleep Test for Narcolepsy

Ok - here's my brief story. 2 years ago I tested positive for OSA. I received a CPAP and started at pressure setting of 4 (I am about 5ft 9in 180lbs). Worked fine and I saw improvement. After about 6 months I went to pressure of 7. That made a huge difference - I felt GREAT! . After about a year on ...

Wow. Now I am freaked out. Hope I didn't suggest the wrong thing to my dr. So what really is the difference between a CFlex and Bi-pap? They pretty much sound like the same thing?

Going from CPAP to BIPAP tomorrow - Help!

Hi! I just found this site and I am so excited. I am not the normal CPAP user. I am a 30 year old male. 5ft 9in and weigh 180lbs. Ok - I have been on the CPAP for about a year and a 1/2. When I started my pressure was on 4. About 6 months later I went to 7. I gradually got to the point where it felt...
